When my husband and I moved to a new town, East Moriches located on the Eastern South Shore of Long Island, I needed to find a new dentist. I wasn't exactly over the moon with my old dentist so I wasn't too unhappy about needing to find a new one. I looked on the internet and found Curtis & Campbell Dentistry. It was located 5 minutes from my new house in East Moriches, New York. I figured I would give them a call and see if they accepted my medical coverage. It turns out that they did accept it and I made an appointment for that month.

I only needed to make an appointment with the dental hygienist until they took some x -rays and got an idea of what kind of shape my teeth were in. I have always had problems with tartar build up, a family inherited trait, so I was visiting the dentist every 3 months to keep it under control. I never had any cavities or fillings so I knew the dental hygienist wasn't going to find my mouth in bad shape.

I made an appointment with the hygienist named Gina. I was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a parking lot behind their building. They are located right on Montauk Highway so parking would have been difficult if they didn't have a parking lot. When I entered the dentist office, I was greeted by my first name. How did they know my name? I was never there before. I soon figured out that they didn't book a ton of patients at once so they knew who to expect. I guess the receptionist just guessed I was the 9:00 appointment for Gina.

The waiting room was clean and filled with new magazines to read. I don't like when you have to wait and the magazines are from the year of the flood. They even had a kiddie waiting room filled with books, and toys. I also noticed while I was sitting there that there was a restroom too. I didn't need to wait long, Gina came up and got me personally. She was friendly and introduced herself. On the way to her room, she asked me how I was doing and all about me. I was so surprised. It was a small town feeling which I have never had before.

When I sat down in the chair, Gina went through my past dental and medical history. She took my x-rays (which didn't hurt) and discussed my results. She had a computer screen right in her room hanging from the ceiling so I was able to see for myself what she saw from the x-rays. Then the dentist came in. He looked at my mouth and told me I had a clean bill of health and just needed a regular cleaning. He couldn't be nicer, which was great. Gina cleaned my teeth and I was done with 20 minutes. She made sure she was careful because my gums tend to bleed.

When I was done, Gina gave me a free tooth brush and some dental floss. She explained how I should be brushing my teeth and flossing. Then she walked me back up to the receptionist desk where I made a 6 month appointment for my next cleaning. She said it wasn't necessary to come back in 3 months, like my previous dentist had me doing. My insurance covers 2 cleanings a year so I was paying for those extra cleanings. She said it wasn't necessary at all and that my teeth were in great shape. I made my appointment and was on my way.

I couldn't believe how pleasant my overall experience was with this dentist office. I have already been back for more cleanings with Gina and have had the same pleasant experience every time I have been there. I have even convinced my husband to see her. He hasn't been to the dentist in years and he said it was a great experience as well. If you live in or near the East Moriches area, I would highly suggest calling Dr. Curtis and Dr. Campbell Dentistry, you won't be disappointed.
