Custom Postcards - Create Your Own

Postcards can be found anywhere in the world. We have been receiving postcards from our friends and families since we were young. We also send them postcards in return. Postcards come in different varieties like the pictures, messages, and quality of paper. You can choose to buy a cheap one or buy the postcards with pretty pictures, but if you want to be unique, you can try making your own postcard.

Custom postcards can be made at home or in your office as long as you have the materials and tools below.

Here are some tips you can use for creating your own custom postcards:

Always set the measurement to standard size for postcards, so that, you can mail it easily. However, you can choose special sizes, if you prefer to use a different type of postcard.

Your next step is designing the postcard. Plan the theme, the picture, and the message of the postcard. You can do this in your head, or in the program you plan to use. You can also use pencil and paper to draw out your ideas.

When you choose a particular picture, use those with high resolution so that when you print it out, the output image will be sharp and clear.

If you are more creative, try to do drawings or sketches to have that personal touch.

Then you can move on to the message of the postcard. When you write your message, keep it simple and to the point. Long messages cannot be written on a postcard due to the limited space.

After the rough draft, try an initial print. This will save your printer ink in case you need to edit your postcard. You should also use regular printer paper for the first print. This is to save your postcard paper. Doing test prints is not a good idea because the postcard paper is not as cheap as the printer paper.

You can create the custom postcards in many programs like Photoshop, Fireworks, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works, Microsoft Publisher, and OpenOffice. There are many more programs that allow you to create these postcards. Any type of program that allows you set your printer settings up, insert images, and create text will work with these custom postcards.
