Cut Your Cable Off and Save $80 a Month While Still Watching Your Favorite Shows!

Steven McCune
Cable companies are known for raising their rates without providing any more service for these extra fees. This seems to be the standard for the industry, the fees just keep going up year after year, for the same service and channels. Most average cable bills run $80 a month if you have digital cable and a DVR box. This doesn't even include "paid premium" channels.

But if you have a computer and Internet service, you can still watch all of your favorite television shows, whenever you want, for FREE! The first step is to call your cable provider and CANCEL YOUR SERVICE.

This isn't 1997 anymore. Gone are the days of waiting 30 minutes to let a 30 second clip buffer on your computer. If you have DSL or broadband internet, you can stream shows on your computer from MANY different sources for free.

Sidereel.com is a site set up similar to Netflix. You add shows to your "queue" to watch whenever you want. The site pulls shows from all over the internet, and lets you watch them on your computer without having to download anything. If it's online, sites like Sidereel will have it.

If a new show is airing that you want to watch, and it's in your list of shows, it will automatically be added to your list of unwatched shows once it's available somewhere online. Many popular shows like American Idol and Family Guy are available online 15 minutes after being shown on cable, COMMERCIAL FREE! That's right, not only do you get free shows, they don't have commercials either.

Check out the list at the end of the article for several sites where you can watch television shows, movies, wrestling pay-per-views, etc. If you want to watch it, trust me, it's online somewhere. Now that you know you can watch television shows for free online, maybe you want to watch it more "regularly", like on your big screen.

Let's say that you get bored one night, and invite some friends over to watch a movie you found on watchxonline.com. All of your friends arrive, and it soon becomes apparent that you and your 6 friends watching Avatar on a 19" computer screen just isn't the experience you thought it would be.

If you have a computer, and a big screen television, you won't have to worry about this happening! Head on over to amazon.com and search for a "serial cable". Make sure to match the amount of pins the cable has compared to how many it has on the back of your computer and the back of your television. Your cable should be blue colored on the ends, and that's also the color you should see on the back of your computer where the serial cable port is, same goes for your television. A serial cable is all it takes to connect your computer and television to allow you to watch anything you want normally. You can usually find a cable for around $10-$20.

There you have it, $80 back into your pocket every month!
