Cute Decorative Candle Holder Your Child Can Make for Christmas

Debbie H.
Is your child into arts and crafts? Is money an issue for your family right now? Well I have a very cute project your child can make and display for Christmas dinner or give as a gift.

Candle Holder

Materials Needed:

A ziplock plastic baggie or mixing bowl

Various kinds of dried beans (pinto, black eyed peas, dried peas, lima, etc) About 2 cups will do. Pour the dried beans in the cup first to see how tall you want the holder to be.

Elmers glue

A plastic cup

Pam non-stick cooking spray

A candlestick

Directions:

1. Spray the inside of the plastic cup with the non-stick cooking spray. This will help the finished product come out of the cup easily.

2. In a mixing bowl or ziplock bag put the beans. I used a variety of beans to make the candle holder very colorful. If you wanted to make it Christmas colors you could use only dried peas and pinto beans.

3. Add glue to the dried beans. I didn't measure the glue, but just keep adding a little at a time until all beans are coated with the glue.

4. Put the bean and glue mixture into the plastic cup that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.

5. After a minute push the candle stick into the gooey mixture.

6. Put the project aside and let sit overnight.

7. The next day you can easily slide the decorative candle holder out of the plastic cup.

8. Display on the table for decoration or give as a gift. Grandparents love this gift.

This is a simple, fun, and fairly easy project to make. My eight year old made it with very little assistance from me.

Check back everyday as I will be posting simple, inexpensive gift and projects your child can make during Christmas time.
