Cute Halloween Poems for Children

Not All Halloween Poems Have to Be Full of Ghosts and Goblins

Amy Shelleby
The Baby's Halloween Costume

My brother is a pirate
My sister is a bee
and I am not sure what I am
I'll have to wait and see

My mom said I look so cute
My dad said I look great
Could someone tell me what I am
It's my costume for goodness sake

The neighbor said I have a tail
My grandma said I'm brown
Does anyone know what I am
anyone, anyone in this town

I know I have some whiskers
I know I have a bow
I know I'm soft and furry too
I just really have to know

No one's gonna tell me
I have given up on that
Wait, I see a mirror
Oh Look, I am a CAT!

A Pumpkin's Wish

I am a big orange pumpkin
I've been growing for awhile
but oh to be a jack-o-lantern
and make the children smile

I know I'd look so perfect
glowing gold and bright
My grin would be from ear to ear
To light the path that night

Won't you come and get me
and take me home with you
Halloweens a special time
For pumkins like me too

Halloween Princess

Tonight I am a princess
my dress is made of gold
a bag I carry with me
for candy it will hold

The houses I will visit
will lie in wait for me
to see a pretty princess
and her family

With my crown upon my head
I ring the bell and wait
the door is opened for me to see
candies on a plate

For you princess, please take two
you look so very sweet
Thank you I say, more work to do
so many houses on this street

Tonight when it's all over
When this night is done
I'll dream of candy and lollipops
and all my Halloween fun
