Have you ever played one of those adventure role playing games which all you do is fight bad guys, gain gold, and get stronger? Have you ever wanted something a little different like something that doesn't require you to fight all the time to get ahead? Cute Knight is the game for you.
Cute Knight is one of those plays in one sitting type of games in which you play a young mysterious orphan who just turned eighteen. This orphan has three years to decide her future. The fun thing is that you get to decide that future. You decide when she's born and that gets her different starting skills and interests, how she spends her time, and even her name. This game has over sixty different possible endings; you can end up as a barmaid, a knight, a royal advisor, or even married to a handsome prince.
It wasn't easy however. You have a time limit and your destiny is decided depending on your stats at the end of those three years. Everything you do will take about one week, you can make money doing various jobs. You could move boxes around to increase strength, put up books to increase your mind, or even clean rooms at the local inn to gain cleaning points.
You could study at the local college to exercise, study magic, learn to dance or you could even learn how to make crafts. Like real life, classes cost money so you have to decide which classes you really need. Every few months, there are festivals where you can have fun and win some serious money or even special prizes.
Even the order of what you do changes things. Sometimes, you have to get your stats up to a certain level to get a plotline started or that you have meet someone or get something first. That makes the game more challenging.
Of course there is fighting involved if you want to just go around and fight. The dungeon system is cool since it is very random. Every level changes at every turn so no two games are the same. Mastering the fighting is a matter of strength and strategy.
This game is for everyone who has a couple of hours to spend. The game is easy to finish but it takes a long time to explore every single one of the possible endings.
If you want to try out this game go over to hanakogames.com. There is a free trial download and if you want to buy it, it is just $19.95 US.
