Cute Pipe Cleaner Crafts

Pipe cleaner crafts are fun easy projects that children love. These flexible little sticks can be used in a number of ways for all sorts of crafts with holiday themes or just because.

Spring Flower Basket Craft

Buy small plastic wicker containers at the craft store or reuse strawberry produce baskets. Weave different colored pipe cleaners through the basket. Bend one pipe cleaner into a half circle and fold under each side of the top of the basket to create a handle. Use green pipe cleaners as stems and attach bunched up tissue paper on the top with glue to simulate flowers. Fill the basket full of handmade flowers.

Thanksgiving Turkey

Make a turkey out of paper plates. Color the turkey with markers and glue eye balls on. Cut one paper plate in half to create the belly and use a smaller half of the plate and cut out a face. Color the plates brown. Draw other features on the turkey. Wrap several yellow, brown and orange pipe cleaners around a pencil to create curls. Fold the pipe cleaners in half and glue the bottom on the back of the plate to make turkey feathers.

Puppy

To make pipe cleaner puppies buy several pipe cleaners in various colors such as green, brown and red. You will also need an empty rolled oats can, construction paper and plastic eye balls. Place a few dots of glue on the outside of the can and wrap construction paper around the can to create the dogs body. Twist three pipe cleaners around a pencil to make the dogs ears and tail.

Fold the ears in half and connect at both ends. Glue the ears on the round portion of the can on both sides. Glue a curly pipe cleaner tail on the back of the can. Cut two long pipe cleaners in half to make legs and glue four legs on the bottom of the can. For an even greater effect you can also curl the legs around the pencil before attaching them. Lastly, roll one pipe cleaner into a small circle simulating a snail and glue on the dogs face to create a nose. Those nose should naturally pop out.
