CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips

Consumer Product Review

Thomas J McCabe
On a very regular basis, I purchase and consume many different brands and flavors of potato chips. Sitting on top of my refrigerator, is a large sized bag of CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips. It is the second bag of these chips that I have purchased in the past few weeks.

It seems to me that these potato chips would be a good item to review. Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is an article which reviews and examines CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips.

Size
The net weight of the bag of CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips being reviewed here is 11 ounces (311 grams). According to the product's nutrition facts label, the bag holds about 11 one ounce (28 grams) servings. Each serving contains roughly 15 chips.

In physical size, this bag of CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips is quite large. The bag measures 16" x 9.5" and is basically a 'Large' sized bag of chips.

Price
I am unsure of the regular retail price charged for one 11 ounce bag of CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips. Every time I see them, they are on sale. The regular price is almost assuredly lower than similar, name brand chips.

Each time I have purchased these chips, the sale price charged for one 11 ounce bag was $1.50. Same - size bags of name brand potato chips retail for significantly higher prices. Considering the fact that I think these chips are just as good as name brand varieties, that price is quite a bargain.

Texture
These potato chips feature a texture that one would expect to find in a good quality, regular style chip. They are crisp, but not overly so and their crunchy texture makes them a great accompaniment to any type of sandwich.

Most of the chips are good sized and intact. The overall mouth feel offered by CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips is pleasing.

CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips contain 160 calories, with 90 calories from fat, per one ounce (approximately 15 chips) serving. This product also contains 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 10 grams total fat, 0 mg of cholesterol, 180 mg of sodium, 240 mg of potassium, 15 grams total carbohydrates, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 0 grams of sugars and 2 grams of protein, per one ounce serving.

Taste / Flavor
When it comes to flavor, CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips really do taste very good. Through the years, I have purchased and eaten many different CVS Gold Emblem food products and every one has been tasty and of good quality. These chips maintain that tradition of excellence.

Not too salty, CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips offer a good, old fashioned basic potato chip flavor. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.

Packaging
If you're a regular CVS Pharmacy customer, there's a good chance you've seen these potato chips displayed in the front of the store. CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips are packaged in a standard type, red, white and black potato chip bag. The bag opens easily and re-closes effectively and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information.

Overall Rating
CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips are an all - around good product. I think these chips are a good example of the high quality store brand products that CVS offers. They are priced significantly lower than name brand chips, yet they are virtually identical in appearance, flavor, texture and quality.

These potato chips are often in sale displays in the horizontal mid and front sections of the store at CVS Pharmacies everywhere. CVS Gold Emblem Classic Potato Chips are highly recommended by this food writer.
