CVS Pharmacy Healthy Hands: Inexpensive Lotion that Works

Ada Noll
CVS Pharmacy Healthy Hands hand and nail care lotion is a great, inexpensive alternative to Vaseline Healthy Hand & Nail. I had been been using of Vaseline Healthy Hand & Nail off and on for a number of months. While I liked the product, I thought I would try something a couple of dollars cheaper that claimed to be comparable.

I have now been using CVS Healthy Hands everyday for two months. I love that the lotion absorbs fast and that it is non-greasy. It also does not leave any flaky residue. The scent is minimal; it is clean and light smelling.

There is Truth in Their Advertising

CVS Healthy Hands contains alpha hydroxy, keratin and vitamin E; all of which help ease dry skin and aide in reducing the fine lines and age spots on your hands. On the bottle it asks you to, "Compare to Vaseline Healthy Hand & Nail." I did just that and am happy that there is truth in their advertising.

When I started using CVS Healthy Hands, I applied it approximately four times a day. I rubbed it into my nail beds and cuticles, and the rest of my hands as well.

The only downside to this lotion is that if you wash your hands a lot, you will need to apply this lotion more. It is not water resistant.

My hands felt softer after the first application. It took about two weeks before I noticed any changes in my cuticles and nails. After one month, my hands looked and felt much softer. This is all great news as this is exactly the time line that is suggested on the bottle.

I will admit that I was skeptical about what it would do for my nails. I have weak nails that tend to split. Since using CVS Healthy Hands, I have noticed that my nails are much stronger and appear healthier.

Not Just for the Hands

I also found that CVS Healthy Hands does not clog pores. I recently ran out of moisturizer, and I decided to give CVS Healthy Hands a try. My face is sensitive and prone to breakouts. Using this lotion on my face did not cause a flare up or any discomfort. In fact, it worked really well to set my face for make up application.

Price and Location

CVS Pharmacy Healthy Hands can be found exclusively at CVS stores. You can also buy it online at www.cvs.com . You can purchase a 3.25 Fl. Oz. for $2.99.

I plan on being a faithful buyer of CVS Healthy Hands. I am happy with the improvements in my skin and the restorative effect it has had on my nails.

I have been using an expensive name brand only because I got ahold of a box of testers in an auction! When I run out I will have to try this product. I'm all for saving money!
