CVS Raincheck Guide

CVS stores regularly offer incredible bargains, including free products, but the goodies sometimes sell out long before current sales ad expires. Although it can be inconvenient --and disappointing--to discover the desired merchandise is out of stock, rainchecks offer a solution. What is a raincheck?
It is a small slip of red and white paper redeemable for a sale item when it becomes available. The cashier will fill in all the relevant sale information, including household limit, sale price and Extra Care Bucks, if applicable. Of course, this takes a few minutes, but you can help expedite the process by having a copy of the sales ad turned to the appropriate page.

How many rainchecks can I get?
The cashier will fill out one raincheck per product. Each one will include the ad or store limit. (Per the fine print on the sales ad, a store can impose limits of its own.)

When do rainchecks expire?
CVS rainchecks do not expire, but they are only good for one use. This gives you the flexibility of choosing when to purchase the sale item. You may find a coupon, rebate or similar offer to sweeten the original deal.

Where can I redeem my raincheck?
CVS rainchecks are valid at all CVS locations.

Can I get ECB with a raincheck?
Yes, CVS generously honors both the original sale price and Extra Care Bucks offer. When you redeem your raincheck, the cashier will adjust the item price and complete a separate transaction to manually print the Extra Care Bucks.

Why isn't my Extra Card number on my rain check Extra Care Bucks?
The cash register usually prints the last four digits of your Extra Care card number on the ECBs, but it works a little differently with rain checks. If your card number is ABC-DEFG-HIJK-LM, the ECBs will show the sequence HIJK.

When does the store restock?
The stores restock regularly, usually weekly, but new or popular sale products sometimes take longer.

It is not uncommon for CVS to run out of the best bargains before the sale ends, but do not let that discourage you from shopping there. The savings and service are worth the minor inconvenience.
