Blessing the Lord: Psalms 103

Dr. Phillip Clark
Blessing the Lord: Psalms 103:1-22

Verse one: Bless the Lord, o my soul: and all that is within me bless his holy name. (My whole Souliolic Nature blesses His Holy name.)

Verse two: Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all His benefits: (My Souliolic Nature praises the Lord and forgets not the productive advantages for praising him.)

Verse three: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; (He forgives all sins and heals all diseases.)

Verse four: Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; (He saves my life from decay, and pours his love and mercy on me.)

Verse five: Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. (He fills thy mouth with good things till you are content; and renews you to youth like an eagle.)

Verse six: The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. (The Lord is a just God and defends those who are wronged by others.)

Verse seven: He made known his ways unto Moses, His acts unto the children of Israel. (He revealed His ways to Moses, His greatness to the people of Israel.)

Verse eight: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. (The Lord reveals mercy, kindness, is patient before he is angered, and abundantly showers His divine favor.)

Verse nine: He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger forever. (He will not always reprimand us: neither will he be angry when angered forever.)

Verse ten: He hath dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. (He has not punished us as we should be punished for our sins, nor dealt with our evil wrongdoing.)

Verse eleven: For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. (For all those that respect him, his love is high as the sky above the earth.)

Verse twelve: As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (God has distant our former sins from us just as the gulf is between east and west.)

Verse thirteen: Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth those that fear him. (Like a father that has compassion for his children, so does the Lord have compassion on those that respects Him.)

Verse fourteen; For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. (For God remembers how He made us from the dust.)

Verse fifteen: As for man, his days are as grass as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. (For the human life is like grass, for it grows like a flower in a field.)

Verse sixteen: For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. (When the wind blows, the flower blows away and there is no trace of where it was.)

Verse seventeen: But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and His righteousness unto children's children; (The Lord's compassion has no end for those who respects Him. His goodness extends to their grandchildren;)

Verse eighteen: To such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember His commandments to do them. (To all those who keeps His agreements, and those who obey His orders.)

Verse nineteen: The Lord hath prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all. (The Lord's throne is in the heaven-lies; and everything His kingdom commands.)

Verse twenty: Bless the Lord, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word. ( Praise the Lord, His angels for you are His mighty soldiers, who obeys His orders and obeys the voice of His words.)

Verse twenty-one: Bless ye the Lord, all ye His hosts; ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure. (Praise the Lord, all His heavenly army, you angelic servants that do the Lord's delight.)

Verse twenty-two: Bless the Lord, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless the Lord, o my soul. (Praise the Lord, everything that He has made, in every dimension where He rules: my Souliolic Nature praise the Lord.)
