CWFI Devotional Creator Series: Lesson One

God the Supreme Being

Dr. Phillip Clark
Creator means: A Supreme Being

A. Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the Earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. (Note: No searching for his understanding means, no one can understand his wisdom.)

B. Verse 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. (Note: God gives strength to the tired and strength to the weak.) Verse 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: (Note: Children become tired and need to relax and the youth trip and fall.) Verse 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. (Note: But those that trust God will be strong again. They shall rise like an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need to rest; they shall walk and not be tired.)

C. Isaiah 30:15-18 For thus saith the LORD God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength; and ye would not. (Note: If you return to God and trust him you will be saved.) Verse 16 But you said, "No; for we will flee upon horses ye shall flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift. (Instead of trusting the LORD God, some people will trust in horses and chariots to run from pursuing enemies.) Verse 17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill. (Note: When one enemy makes threats a thousand of your men will flee, When five enemies make threats all of your men will run away and only you will stand.) Verse 18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. (God is patient, so he may show you his mercy. For he wants to rise and have compassion on you, for the LORD is just. God and everyone who is patient for his help will be satisfied.)
