Cy Waits Goes from Hero to Unemployed in Paris Hilton Land

Cy Waits was fired from his job in Las Vegas after his arrest for DUI on Friday night with Paris Hilton as a passenger in the car, according to RadarOnline. What a week for Hilton's new boyfriend; first a hero and now unemployed, with a scarlet letter for his involvement in partying with the hotel heiress.

No one had heard of Waits before last week. He started the week out as a hero, the man who quite possibly saved his girlfriend's life.

Waits was at Hilton's house last week when she had a home invasion in progress. After hearing noises on the first floor, Waits grabbed his gun and went downstairs, where he was able to hold the home invader at gun point until police arrived, according to TMZ.

The man, who never made it inside the house, was outside holding two knifes while trying to break in through a window. Waits went outside, where he subdued the criminal until he was taken away in handcuffs by law enforcement.

After playing knight in shinning armor to Hilton, people praised him for possibly saving the heiress' life. The day after the incident, Hilton and Waits boarded a private jet for Vegas, where the two were pulled over for the smell of marijuana emanating from the cars open window.

Both Hilton and Waits were arrested, he for DUI, she for cocaine possession. The Wynn Hotel fired Waits allegedly for his involvement in the DUI incident.

I have been in a position of hiring and firing for a company, and more than likely Waits was fired for the publicity around the drugs, cocaine and marijuana, more so than the DUI.

If someone gets a DUI, he is not likely to get fired from a job, unless he drives for a living, which is not something Waits did. The affiliation of cocaine and marijuana is most likely what his employer wanted to separate from.

Waits more than likely has nothing to worry about when it comes to a job. He was fired from a hotel where he held a "promotional" job, reports RadarOnline. He just happens to be dating a hotel heiress. Chances are he will see an even better job with that hotel chain once Hilton asks her dad to help him out.

If excitement is what Waits was going after hanging out with Hilton, this he has gotten! He has gone from hero to unemployed with an arrest record. As my old Irish grandmother used to say, "you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas".
