Cycle of Life, a Poem

We Sometime Don't Recognize that Everything is Connected to Everything Else in Our Lives

~~~CYCLE OF LIFE~~~
A bird flew from her nest one day
and landed oh so far away,
that everything was foreign and new
even the early morning dew.
To a bird so tired, who flew so long,
It seemed that nothing could go wrong.
So she nested down to rest a while
And heard the voice of a happy child.
She felt the wind among the trees
And smelled the aroma of Sweet peas.
So all seemed right and it should have been
Until that ill begotten wind;
That brought a hawk swooping around,
To search the trees and the ground.
His shadow fell upon the nest, and
you probably now, have guessed the rest.
She tried to fly to a safer haven
But was engulfed by the shadow raven.
Such was life for the bird and the tree
And all the things around you and me.
All pleasures soon do end,
In a cycle of life that begins, once again.
The happy child became a man
And shot down a hawk upon his land
Then the man grew old and one day died
And the birds sang and an old woman cried.
