D23 Revealed by Disney after "Are you 23?" Campaign

Several weeks ago a rumor was leaked onto the internet and swept through many different popular Walt Disney forums, that Disney had a new campaign starting, the only clue that Disney gave us was a slogan: "Are you 23?" Well today, after much speculation Disney released the much anticipated information regarding what this slogan insinuated, D23: The Official Community for Disney Fans. This website is a open community to all Disney lovers that incorporates information on special events, a boutique for Disney collectibles, historical Disney information, blogs, featured news stories and updates on what is happening with Disney.

In the News & Features area you will find the latest news on what is going on with Disney, and any press releases and photos that might be of interest to Disney fanatics. This area also features articles and interviews on current Disney topics from theme parks and animation to television and motion pictures, along with 85 years worth of historical retrospectives. This section presently offers blogs from on-staff Disney historians, but hopes to include blogs from Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Imagineering and staff of Walt Disney World, in the near feature.

The Walt Disney Archives is a section for fans to take a look at the time-honored legacy that Disney preserves. Each day you can check this section and explore what has happened on this day in previous years, and you can delve into rare, vintage and classic articles from within Disney's Archives. This section also offers a Archives Library that is filled with Disney reference tools, which includes biographies, filmographies, awards, historical profiles and other archival information.

Disney Twenty-Three Section, is where you will find the Disney's twenty-three, a new quarterly publication. Here you will find out the latest issue and check for expanded stories, pictures and interviews. In the Expo & Events area you will find the latest about the D23 Expo, the ultimate Disney fan experience. This is a celebration that is going to be held in Anaheim, Calif., September 10-13, 2009, and will feature celebrity appearances, interactive exhibitions, film screenings, one-of-a-kind merchandise and a forum for collectors.

Although there are many websites that dedicate themselves to Disney information, forums, and news, this new website is a great website for any true Disney Historian, for families that may want to put some Disney Trivia together for their family trips, for people who are collectors and who are looking for those rare and hard to find Disney pieces. This site is long overdue, and will only help Disney now through this hard economy.
