I remember as a little girl
The songs you sang to me
The words would change from time to time
But that just made them dearer
As I grew up and became a Mom
I found myself singing the same songs
Changing the words from time to time
Remembering you as I sang
My children are both grown now
And soon they will have children of their own
Before long your songs will be sung again
With words changing from time to time
So as you look down from heaven
And hear your songs again
I know that you will be smiling
And singing along with them
