Dad's Job is Rewarded on Father's Day

Appreciating Dad Once a Year

Laurie Childree
It's dad job to protect us,
Loving and nurturing us much like mom does
Dad is the protector, provider and bear of a man
We see it as his job

The roles are different but the pay the same
We grumble and gripe about all we don't get
Then one special day we give them a gift
Father's Day we try to say "Thanks"

A small token doesn't seem enough
Searching everywhere for that perfect something
Money can't get us what we want to give
Each day we have to live,
Knowing we can never repay dad even in the smallest way

All he does for us we ignore
Father's Day we celebrate
When we have kids we understand even more
Taking them to see him on his special day

Dad's reward in the end?
Grandchildren he spoils and sends home.
