College life is a big challenge. It can be even tougher if you live on the campus dormitory away from the potential comfort of living at home you left behind before making your way up here. You will learn things to do before leaving your dorm room each day.

First: It is helpful to get seven to eight hours of sleep a night. Doing this can keep you refreshed and mentally equip you with what you need to help make your day successful.

Second: You must take steps to take care of your hygiene. These include taking a bath or shower; putting on fresh clothes and deodorant after bathing; and brushing and flossing your teeth.

Third: It is considerate to take grooming yourself seriously, especially if you have a roommate. This includes brushing and combing your hair.

Fourth: It is vital to eat breakfast, especially because it is said to be the most important meal of the day. You must make it a nutritious one that includes the vitamins and minerals you need to function at your best.

Fifth: Once you get out of bed, you should make your bed. This will help make the room look good for yourself and your roommate.

Sixth: It is important to pay attention to incorporating fitness into your routine. You should warm up your muscles, then stretch them, then do some exercises that include weight training, calisthenics and cardiovascular activity such as walking or jogging in place.

Seventh: You might want to do something to clear your mind or enhance your thinking power. You can achieve this through meditation, yoga and doing crosswords.

Eighth: You must read or skim your way through the newspaper. It is necessary to stay informed about what is going on around you.

Ninth: How about reading the comics? It is a great way to get laughs and relax.

Tenth: You can check your E-mail and send a message to a friend. This is another good way to unwind while checking to see if something important is happening.

Eleventh: You could prepare questions to ask your professors. This is a good way to solve problems you have with your course material.

Twelfth: It is crucial to make sure you leave out with everything you need. You must organize your book bag and put all of the supplies you need for the day in there.

You have learned things to do before leaving your dorm room each day.
