Bonehead Tip of the Day: Once again, I felt the pain. Tax increase has been felt. Now what?
The LIst: Tops in TV
1. "Super Bowl" - 111 million viewers
2. "Super Bowl Post Game" - 66 million
3. "Glee After Bowl" - 27 million
Source: Nielsen.
Notes: Super Bowl ratings, as projected here long before the game, came true. It is the most watched football and TV show in history. It beat last year's game by 5-6 million. Because of the football ratings all season, this was primed for a beat down. Meanwhile, the bowl bump didn't necessarily last until the new Glee" episode on Tuesday, but remained at it's normal level of viewers.
Time to move on: Chicago Code" was not bad, but then again, "Detroit 1-8-7" is my favorite cop drama on TV and it's on the proverbial bubble that may burst
- Of course it was for ratings, was Oprah and her new found sibling. Why not? She's on TV and that's the deal. I have no problem with that.
- If you are in the business of writing about it or talking about it movies and TV, try not to get duped like news outlets often have been lately. See balloon boy and golden voice guy - - especially over the last three years. They are trying to figure out how to do real time reporting for the most part. They know how to do it but panic when someone in the basement is beating them on a story.
Trivia: You can thank the postmaster in Loop Texas for that name. One day he was playing with his lasso (no comment) when he was trying to think of a good name this town. The looping lasso stuck and there you have it. Eurasian beavers, rarely, and I mean rarely build dams. Our sun will implode, just like Facebook will soon. Even I could slam dunk a basketball on the moon. But getting there is the trick right now.
Closer: Forget that groundhog. Pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training is the true sign I care about.
