Dairy Queen's Candy Cane Chill Blizzard: Product Review

Bandit
Dairy Queen has been around since 1940 and is one of the most popular fast food restaurants around the world. During the holidays Dairy Queen offers a blizzard of the month and the month of December features the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard. Here is my review of the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard from Dairy Queen.

The Candy Cane Chill Blizzard at Dairy Queen is made with the famous soft serve ice cream. There are two sizes available, small and large. The small is a sixteen-ounce cup and the large is a twenty-ounce cup. This scrumptious treat begins by pouring two scoops of crushed peppermint candy into the bottom of a cup, sprinkling in tiny chunks of semi-sweet chocolate bits and then the soft serve ice cream is swirled in on top of the peppermint candy and then mixed together using the milkshake blender.

I have had several of these scrumptious blizzard treats and I have become totally addicted to them. I cannot wait for December to arrive each year because this is the only time that they are available or whenever the peppermint candy runs out, the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard will be gone so what I do is each time I buy one, I buy an extra one or two and take them home and place them in my freezer so even when they are gone at Dairy Queen, I still have them at home to enjoy after Christmas is gone.

The Candy Cane Chill Blizzard is a real pretty pastel pink color and you can see the tiny bits of peppermint candies mixed in and the bits of chocolate that are in make this an eye-catching treating.

The first time I tried one of the Candy Cane Chill Blizzards, I did not care for it that much because of the fact that there was bits of chocolate chunks mixed in with it and the chocolate seemed to take away the taste of the peppermint altogether so I could not even tell I was eating a blizzard with peppermint in it so on my next visit to Dairy Queen I ordered my Candy Cane Chill Blizzard without the chocolate and it is so much better! The soft serve vanilla ice cream is so lip-smacking good and dreamy. The crushed peppermint candy that is blended in packs this ice cream treat with a punch. Every spoonful you have, you want more and more and you will hear the crunch of a piece of peppermint with every spoonful. I just can't get enough of these!

Last year it was called the Peppermint Blast Blizzard, but whatever they call it next year, I will be buying lots of them! The 16-ounce is only $2.39.

I give the Dairy Queen Candy Cane Chill Blizzard 5 out of 5 stars!
