Daisy De La Hoya's Semi-Nude Photo Stirs Rumors

The niece of Oscar de la Hoya and a contestant on this season's Rock of Love, Daisy de la Hoya, has recently posted pictures on her My Space page that are causing quite a stir. The most talked about picture features partially nude Daisy flipping off the camera with what looks like lines of cocaine and a Jack Daniels bottle covering half of her exposed chest. In the caption of the picture Daisy states that it's just flour, but who knows? I'm not sure why these pictures come as such a shock to so many of her fans. It's not like she doesn't have dozens of other pictures with little obstructing the view of her chest.

These pictures remind me of some other instances of high-profile celebrity nudity like Lindsey Lohan's nude Marilyn Monroe photo shoot, Kim Kardashian's Playboy layout, and, of course, Janet Jackson's wardrobe "malfunction". All of these occurrences seem to have stemmed from a need for attention. All of these people had either tarnished reputations or dwindling careers.

Lindsey Lohan did a photo shoot for New York Magazine, recreating Marilyn Monroe's final photo shoot from 1962 on February 5 of this year. The pictures seemed like a cry for attention after all of the negative publicity Lohan had been getting. However, they didn't do much good in terms of helping her tarnished reputation. Instead, many people seem to be more worried about Lohan, hoping that her career won't end like Monroe's did. Lohan has had a lot of problems with drugs, which parallels the life of Monroe, and it probably would have been a better idea to keep her clothes on and tone down her wild side a bit.

Kim Kardashian also did a photo shoot, but hers was for Playboy magazine. It seemed like she wanted to use the pictures as a way of boosting her career and moving it in a positive direction after the release of her sex tape with Ray J. Before the sex tape was released, few people knew the name "Kim Kardashian". The sex tape was supposedly leaked and after wide distribution, Kardashian ended up striking up a $2 million exclusive deal. After the release of the tape, Kardashian seemed to skyrocket to fame, eventually gaining her own television show.

And finally, who can forget Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction with Justin Timberlake during the Super Bowl halftime show. In front of a crowded stadium the two stars performed Timberlake's song, Rock Your Body. The song featured the lyrics, "Better have you naked by the end of this song" which was eventually followed by the exposed breast of Janet Jackson. It seemed like an incredibly desperate attempt to boost a dying career. Janet Jackson's career has never been particularly steady; she goes though cycles of fame. She goes from fit, gorgeous, and total A-list material to big, sloppy, and unheard of. Perhaps Jackson thought that she would gain the attention of a younger crowd and therefore boost CD sales, but it the only thing that performance boosted where Internet searches of the phrase, "Janet Jackson boobs."
