Dale Earnhardt Jr to Star with David Arquette in a Halloween Night Movie

Award Winning Director Terry Gilliam Spotlights Talladega Superspeedway in 'The Legend of Hallowdega'

Halloween is approaching and so is the end of the 2010 NASCAR season, but film maker Terry Gilliam has some surprises for NASCAR fans. Best known as a member of Monty Python's Flying Circus, Gilliam, has also created films such as 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', Monty Python and The Holy Grail', 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' and '12 Monkeys'.

Gilliam is now turning his attention toward NASCAR and the 'legend and lore' surrounding the infamous 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway. 'The Legend of Hallowdega' is a short film starring TV and slasher film star David Arquette and Emmy nominated actor Justin Kirk. The film is set in both Charlotte, NC and Talladega Superspeedway and is scheduled for full release on October 31, Halloween Day. ESPN will debut the first chapter of the movie prior to the broadcast of the Amp Energy 500 from Talladega and the full movie will be available online at www.legendofhallowdega.com on Halloween night.

"To bring our little circus into the world of a truly monster circus was a thrill." said Terry Gilliam.

The comedy-paranormal spoof explores the mysteries surrounding Talladega Superspeedway as the host of an investigative news show (Justin Kirk) joins forces with a techno-geek paranormal expert (David Arquette) to dodge close-calls and chase crazy leads to get to the bottom of The Legend of Hallowdega.

"The great folks at AMP Energy Juice have developed a new and innovative idea to research and debunk some of the myths surrounding Hallowdega" said Talladega Superspeedway chairman Grant Lynch. "We anxiously await the release of the film to see what Terry Gilliam and AMP Energy Juice have come up with."

The film is produced by Amp Energy Juice and @radical.media. @radical.media is a global media outlet best known for music videos from Bon Jovi, Avril Levine and Gnarls Barkley as well as commercials for Lance Armstrong's Live Strong, Nike, ESPN, Google and AT&T.

Any NASCAR fan knows when AMP Energy Juice is involved in something associated with NASCAR, NASCAR's seven time most popular driver of the year Dale Earnhardt Jr. can't be far behind. Earnhardt fans won't be let down. Dale Jr. was tagged for a guest appearance in the film. Also appearing in the film will be three time Sprint Cup Champ and Fox TV analyst 'DW' Darrell Waltrip.

Interviews with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and DW are up on the film website, as well as other behind the scenes videos, pictures and the film trailer. So be prepared to be scared and laugh your spoiler off. Tune in to EPSN at 1pm EST for the first chapter. After the race, go to www.legendofhallowdega.com to see the full movie.
