Maintaining a collection of diecast cars is also an activity that can bond children and parents with one another. Sports are usually an activity that is shared in the family and the process of collecting allows for many more fond memories to be shared.
Dale Earnhardt, Sr. collectibles became even more poignant after his death in 2001. His name is known around the country and around the world as a top name in racing by NASCAR fans and even by those who know nothing about the sport of racing.
NASCAR diecast cars come in two scale sizes, 1:24 and 1:64. Earnhardt's cars go way back to his early racing days. In the 1:24 scale size is the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 1977 Belden Asphalt Malibu 1/24 RCCA Elite (limited to 3600 individually numbered replicas); the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 1979 Pontiac Wrangler 1/24 RCCA Elite; the Dale Earnhardt Sr. #2 Mello Yello 1980 Ventura 1/24 RCCA Elite; the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 1987 Aerocoupe Wrangler 1/24 RCCA Elite; the Dale Earnhardt,Sr. 1995 Silver Select 1/24 RCCA Elite; the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 1996 Atlanta Olympics 1/24 RCCA Elite; the Dale Earnhardt Sr 1999 Last Lap Of The Century Cc 1/24 RCCA Elite (only 8,500 of these individually-numbered replicas were produced); the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 2000 75th Win Platinum 1/24 RCCA Platinum Elite (only 3,504 produced); the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 2000 Peter Max 1/24 RCCA Elite (limited to 7,500 models); and the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 2001 Goodwrench 1/24 RCCA Metal Elite.

There is a collectible train set featuring the Taz, Wheeties, Oreo, Olympic, Peter Max, Goodwrench, Silver Select, Coke, Bass Pro and Wrangler cars along with an engine (a Number 3, of course) and track.
