This year, three new gardens join the event. Private donation enabled the renovation of these amazing spaces. A Women's Garden, dedicated to their nurturing nature, adds 2.5 lovingly landscaped acres. Jardinières and seasonal plantings festoon the McCasland Family Sunken Garden. Paths winding through fairyland topiaries lend The Boswell Family Garden the name El Inesperaldo ('The Unexpected"). In addition, the Dallas Bonsai Society Annual Show and the Texas State Daffodil Show call the arboretum home.
The carefully cultivated blossoms play a symphony of bright colors and fragrances. Thousands of spring-blooming plants - including 400,000 bulbs, 20,000 azaleas, and 80,000 pansies, violas, delphiniums, and poppies - fill the festival. From horticultural demonstrations for master gardeners to wagon rides for children, the event offers a sweet introduction to spring.
