The event, which started March 10th, has hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and advance tickets are available are area Tom Thumb stores, valid for regular daytime admission only.
The festival features over 400,000 spring-blooming bulbs, 3,000 azaleas, and thousands of other perennials and annuals throughout the 66-acres gardens.
General admission is $8, seniors citizens are $7; and children 3-12, $5. Ages two and under get in free. Parking is $5.00.
This year's theme is "Flower Power," a salute to the 60s and will include theme-inspired topiaries throughout the vicinity, Flower Power concerts, and other family-friendly activities and events.
The festival, presented by Chase, features one of the most spectacular tulip displays you'll find.
Music on the Pergola will be featured from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m. Horse-drawn carriage rides are available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weather permitting.
Through April 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. are "Mommy & Me Mondays" and "Tiny Tots Tuesdays," the latter presented by Children's Medical Center. James French will be available at the kiosk to take your picture with a live rabbit at the Jonsson Color Garden.
Two-for-one Wednesdays are being held through April 11th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you bring in the Dallas Arboretum ad located in the Friday Guide Section of the Dallas Morning News or a copy of the ad, you get one free admission with each full-price paid adult ticket.
Kids' concerts are also featured March 16th with Auntie E. & Friends 11-11:30 and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Joe McDermott will also perform on the same date 11:30-12:30. On April 6th the Biscuit Brothers will take the stage 10:30-11:30 and 1:30-2:30. You can pack a picnic basket and blanket and head to the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage to see these special family-friendly concerts by popular children's performers.
A Flower Power Concert will be held April 12th 7:30-9:30 p.m. on the Martin Rutchik concert stage featuring tunes from the 60s and 70s.
On March 3rd and 4th the Texas State Daffodil Show & Bonsai Show was held at the facility at 8525 Garland Road in Dallas.
Spring tea is held through May 31st at the newly renovated DeGolyer Tea Room featuring elegant tea sandwiches and petite desserts. Advance reservations are required to attend and can be made by calling 214-515-6512.
