Dallas Celebrates the Royal Wedding

Did your invitation to the royal wedding get lost in the mail? No worries. From movie screenings to contests to viewing parties, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the historic wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William right here in Dallas.

Perhaps most recognizable for its support during the PBS pledge drives, The British Emporium, located at 140 North Main in Grapevine, is hosting a watch party and lookalike contest this weekend.

The British Emporium Viewing Party
Friday April 29

If the weather permits, bring a lawn chair and gather in the parking lot to watch the televised wedding ceremony on an 80-inch screen and enjoy breakfast treats. RSVP online and set your alarm clock because the store will open before 5 a.m.

Royal Wedding Celebration
Saturday April 30

Put on your game face for the William and Kate lookalike contest. Judging takes place at 1 p.m.

Londoner Pub Viewing Party
The Londoner Pub, located at 14930 Midway Road in Addison, is opening at 5 a.m. on Friday. Enjoy televised coverage of the royal wedding all day while noshing on tea sandwiches, scones and sausage rolls. Formal wear is optional.

Anglophiles can enjoy multiple events at Hotel St Germain located at 2516 Maple Avenue in Dallas.

Tea and Book Signing with Nancy Becker

Guests can sample tea and royal wedding cakes made from historic recipes. Author Nancy Becker will sign her newest book, "Imperial Wedding of Old Paris," which includes the recipe for the original Imperial Wedding cake of 1853.

Dinner with "The Queen"

Enjoy a four-course gourmet meal with wine and Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV and watch "The Queen." Chef Chad Martin based the dinner on the 1953 Royal Coronation menu.

Breakfast in Bed
Friday April 29

Spend the night in one of the hotel's luxurious suites and enjoy a full English breakfast in bed while watching the televised nuptials during the wee hours of Friday morning. Check with Hotel St Germain for prices.

"The King's Speech" Dinner

Going beyond the typical dinner and movie, this event boasts a six-course meal paired with wine and Bollinger Champagne while showing "The King's Speech." Mr. David Huntley, representative of Historic Royal Palaces, will provide special remarks.

Terry Costa Sale and Celebration
Enjoy a royal shopping experience with the Terry Costa viewing party at 6 p.m. on Friday. Located at 12817 Preston Road, Suite 138 in Dallas, the shop will serve cake, strawberries and champagne while re-airing the royal wedding.
