Dallas Cowboys Vs Houston Texans
A Must-win Situation for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3 of the 2010 NFL Season
With untimely holding penalties, key missed field goals, unfortunate turnovers, and the inability to finish off drives, the Dallas Cowboys have compiled an extensive list of areas to work on. On the positive side, though, Tony Romo seems to be playing sharp, overall, especially considering the shaky pass protection provided for him. True, he threw a couple of interceptions in the Bears game, but both of those were tipped balls, one of which could have been caught by wide receiver, Miles Austin. On another positive note, rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant has made a quick and strong presence since the season started. In week one, he caught 8 passes for 56 yards and appeared to hungry to get the ball no matter what the situation. In week two, he scored his first NFL touchdown by returning a punt 62 yards. Other key areas to build upon are the fact that the Dallas defense gave up no offensive touchdowns in week 1 and only gave up one 3rd down conversion in week 2, although that conversion was on a huge 3rd and 15 play!
With a bye coming up for week 4, it is essential that the Dallas Cowboys conjure a way to get past the Texans on Sunday. If not, then the Dallas players and coaches will have to sit in frustration with an 0-3 record, waiting until October 10th to finally have a chance to redeem themselves against the Tennessee Titans. October 10th may not seem that far away, but with a bye week and an 0-3 record, that can seem like an eternity! This is a huge must-win game for Dallas against one of the hottest teams in the NFL . . . but don't lose the faith if you are a Dallas fan. Last year, Dallas was in a similar situation in which they were desperate for a win . . . and they were scheduled to play the NFL's toast of the town, the New Orleans Saints. Dallas stepped up big time in that game and shocked countless football experts by toppling the mighty Saints. Let's see if Dallas can put up a similar performance against the Houston Texans! If so, they will build up an incredible amount of momentum going into their bye week. This momentum could then be utilized to cap a very possible 3-game winning streak, as they return from the bye to play a Titans team with quarterback issues and a Minnesota Vikings team with injury issues.
