It's that time of the year again--firing up the grill and fabulous fireworks for July 4th. We all know that everything is bigger in Texas, so I am sure the events for this year's Independence Day will be grand and festive. Here are just some ideas of where you, your family and friends can celebrate July 4th, 2011.
Rated one of the top 10 fireworks shows in the country by USA Today, Addison Kaboom Town Fireworks Celebration is celebrated each year at Addison Circle ( 4970 Addison Circle Addison, TX) on July 3rd at 7 p.m. Enjoy live music, food, historic warbird flyovers, and more. Stay after the fireworks for a free movie under the stars. With thousands of people attending Kaboom Town, visitors would be wise to arrive very early in order to get the best spot to watch the fireworks show, and to find a decent parking space that doesn't require lots of walking. Frisco Freedom Fest will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Pizza Hut Park and Simpson Plaza, located in front of City Hall in the heart of Frisco Square, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. The party starts at 4 p.m., featuring a Children's Expo with rock climbing, train rides, and more; Community Stage with live music from local entertainers; Hometown Hero Exhibit, showcasing police and fire departments; and Taste of Frisco. Frisco restaurants will be serving some of their most popular menu items. The finale of it all is one of the largest fireworks shows in the area. On July 4th, join the Irving Symphony in Las Colinas near the new convention center for a magical patriotic celebration. Admission is free and parking is $5. Gates open at 6 p.m. ISO performance will be at 8:45 p.m. You can visit http://www.irvingsymphony.com/ for more information.
On July 4 at 9:30 p.m., claim your spot for a fantastic fireworks display near Lake Grapevine. The fireworks spectacular can be viewed from any lakeside location as well as several other spots throughout Grapevine. Admission is free at most viewing locations. The city's annual Red White & Lewisville fireworks show will be held July 4th around Vista Ridge Mall. The amazing fireworks show will start shortly after dark at approximately 9:30 p.m. The best viewing opportunities will be on the South side of Vista Ridge Mall and along the 121 Bypass.
