"I believe Dallas is a growing cosmopolitan city".

Today's statement is due to the fact that I have been told by many people, including my very friendly Texans that Dallas is a boring place; I do not believe so. Maybe the weather might not be the best of the world and that might be true...Dallas is far from being a boring place. Last weekend, I spend three days on the Art District area among Galleries and Museums. I attended the Jazz Concert at the Dallas Museum of Art, which by the way is free and also joined a sketching class for one hour, free as well. It was a great experience to see artist of all ages getting together, having their special, magical moment. Unbelievable, but Music, Art and Beauty was actually available for everyone.

For those who say that nothing is going on in Dallas, Texas, get ready for a preview of what it is coming. Although they are not free events, the level of performance and quality of work of these artists worth the article to let people know that we are lucky. Dallas is getting hot, and it is not exactly the heat of the summer.

Monday, August 18th, 2008 at 7:30pm Nine Inch Nails staging at the American Airlines Center. Ticket prices range between $29.50 to $54.50. Their tour is named "Lights in the Sky, over North America 2008". In 2004, this band was claimed and listed in the Rolling Stones` greatest 100 Rock artists. According to some of the Rolling Stones magazine readers comments on its opening tour concert in Seattle say it all: "...an amazing, awe inspiring show. NIN gives the best live performance". Visuals, sounds and set-list are great. Don't miss it if you can. This is a show to see.

NIN will be also in Oklahoma City, OK on August 15th and Houston on August 16th. Check on your local news. Presale is sold out already. After the band`s tour in North American, they will be going to South America: Santiago, Chile; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Porto Alegre, Brazil; Bogota, Colombia; and for a great close: Caracas, Venezuela!!!

If NIN is not your cup of tea, then maybe UB40 is an alternative. This band will be performing at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas at 8pm. The prices vary to Box seating: $87.50, Balcony seating $67.50-87.50 and General Admission-standing room only $42.50. I wonder who would go there and stay seating while the band plays!!

If you prefer some dance and jump, the date is even closer: ARMIN VAN BUUREN. A great DJ from Holland is visiting Dallas, performing at the Lizard Lounge on August the 9th. Tickets are $25 General Entrance and $40 Vip starting the event at 9pm. He has been named within the Top 100 DJ across the world, so soon we will have a little Ibiza at home!!

These are just the next coming events. I can't wait for what will be coming by the end of summer. Meanwhile, I will continue searching for more...keep your eyes and ears alert!
