Read on about the Big D and you'll be amazed. Dallas really does have Texas-size offerings.
Dallas' location in the greater U.S. is advantageous to any traveler. Not only does Dallas have the world's third busiest airport, but the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is located in a very central part of the U.S. This makes flying to either coasts, east and west, easy and affordable. One can get to the east and west coasts in approximately three and a half hours. You can even get to Canada in under three hours or fly to Chicago in under two hours. Dallas' location makes it appealing for business and the pleasure-seeking traveler.
Dallas boasts more restaurants per capita than any other city in America. There are endless options from the very sophisticated and chic to the casual and fun ambience. In addition to the true steak experience, Dallas offers cuisine from all over the world. Whatever your taste buds are wanting, Dallas' restaurants provide it all from Italian to Japanese/sushi to Latin to European to Chinese and Thai. Dallas' Mexican restaurants are always popular as well. Dallas has around 10 five-star restaurants, including Stephan Pyles, The French Room, Abacus, Nana, and The Mansion on Turtle Creek, to name a few.
Dallas has always been synonymous with shopping. We have it all. Dallas is home to the internationally recognized specialty store Neiman Marcus and it is also the site of America's oldest shopping center, Highland Park Village.
From unique boutiques to premier shopping malls and hip new shopping districts, Dallas has fashion buttoned up. Galleria Dallas, Northpark Center, Willow Bend Mall, Stonebriar Mall, West Village and Mockingbird Station are just a few of the shopping opportunities and areas that you shouldn't forego when you visit Dallas.
Many large corporations are housed in Dallas. There's Neiman Marcus, of course. There's also JC Penney, Mary Kay, AMR Corporation (American Airlines/American Eagle), EDS, Kimberly-Clark, Texas Instruments, Southwest Airlines, ClubCorp., to name a few. Dallas has a lot to offer the typical businessman or the person looking for that great career. Dallas is also a leader in the high-tech industry, ranking second to San Jose, California.
Additionally, Dallas has great schools and school districts. The notable St. Mark's School of Texas lies in the heart of North Dallas. Dallas also has well-known universities, such as Southern Methodist University and University of Texas at Dallas.
