Dam Breakers

Jim Yackel
Whoever desires let him take of the water of life freely. Our Lord does not build dams to hold back the River of Life; it is the hand of man by which these dams are built. We as Storm Troopers must endeavor to be dam breakers.

This writer is burdened with a sense of urgency and yet love and grace are required now. Time is of the essence as the Storm is building in intensity and lives will be lost. We who have freely partaken of the water of life must share its refreshing flavor as living testaments to the one whose blood became our water and our satiation. The days are passing by quickly as they no longer seem to be 24 hours long. The Storm clouds are darkening, even if the sun is shining through your office window. I exhort all of us to wipe the grease from our mouths and then take a large swallow of the cool, refreshing water. We must then get up out of our chairs and walk. Upright and true, with bodies as living sacrifices, we must walk amongst the lost that they may be found as the Thundersnow is slowly but ever so steadily intensifying.

The exists an Emergent Church Labyrinth and if you are walking within its confines that have been created at the hand of man, please step outside of it now. Go ahead my friend, you can do it! Come and walk the straight path and not the circular. One can be forever lost within the mystical unholy confines of the Labyrinth and that can be death. Jesus does not stand at the center of this swirling path beset with barriers that block and redirect your journey. He is easily found on the straight and narrow path and ready to walk with you now!

The Living Water can only be dammed by an icy heart. The dams we must break are made of ice and while ice can be beautiful it can also be the beast that man allows to keep the water from flowing. The love of Christ is warm and as it flows through us it will melt those dams of ice and the lost will be found at the riverbed that was once dry, drinking of the Living Water that now flows freely, unimpeded by the ice created by subzero hearts.

Time is of the essence as conditions will deteriorate in the coming weeks and months; leaving those who are lost bogged down in a snow that is at once spiritual and natural. We must walk now in public while we still can; upright and true with dignity and love. We must advise of the truth of the Gospel and the repercussions of refusing it; but while the repercussions of refusal are grave - we must not use God's word as an instrument to cause concussions. Storm Troopers, we must witness with passion but also with grace. As soul-winners, we must set an example to the lost and the found alike.

May we pray?

Dear Lord - I am burdened by the sense that the Storm that most cannot yet see is intensifying this very moment. Please Lord, open more eyes that they will mock and scoff less and see more. And please Lord, use those whom You have chosen out as evangelists in new and larger ways. Let us represent Your love while never shying away from Your truth. Please Lord, let your glistening Holy Spirit be manifested through us so that the lost will see it and You will be magnified and glorified. Use us as Dam Breakers, oh lover of our souls. As the sands of the hourglass fall from the top barrel to the bottom, let us efficiently use the time You have given us.

Jesus - King of Kings and Lord of Lords! In your glorious name we pray, Amen!
