Damages: Finale Spoilers

nd
Wow, Damages is all the buzz this week. The season finale is twenty-four hours away, and it is relatively safe to say that we can't find many spoilers to share. Just try to Google the show - the fans are speculating, predicting, keeping tabs on the good guys turned bad. But the folks at FX are keeping mum.

While no confirmation of Season Two of Damages has been issued by the FX network, rumor has it the series is renewed for another 13 episodes. The fans are a bit frustrated; given the show's retrospective into the character's lives and plot lines, can the next season work if the show focuses on Ellen's trial only?

We like the suspense of the past and the present coming together. And Tate Donovan (who plays Patty's partner, Tom Shayes)assures us that this aspect of the show will not be compromised in the finale. Tomorrow night's episode is titled "Because I know Patty". Donovan promises conclusions on both the Frobisher case and the murder of Ellen's fiancé, David. But the bloggers are speculating that the Frobisher case will not exactly be finished; while he may be settling with the company's employees regarding their pension funds, he may be entering a criminal trial for several accounts of murder.

Ted Danson kicks butt at being a bad guy who tries to sway us into believing he is the victim of his surroundings. But the fact remains, Frobisher is as bad as the company he keeps. As of the last episode, we may be under the impression that said company includes Nye, a seemingly friendly attorney who at the start of the season warns Ellen about Patty's rootless tactics. However, we don't know for a fact that Nye works for Frobisher, because the person he calls is never revealed. Two theories on this - Nye either calls Tom to let him know that Ellen has just left Patty, or Nye calls Frobisher with the same information. The second is a more likely possibility, with fans expecting Nye to provide legal council for Frobisher at the start of Season Two.

One other detail that will be resolved in the finale is the reveal of "the young woman running in the streets, bloody" in the pilot episode, explains one of the writers/producers of the show. Fans are on the fence with this one. Many think the woman is likely Lila DiMeo, the girl who made advances at David. While fans suspected her of working for Patty during the mid-season point, this is very unlikely. The girl in question is rumored to be Katie, David's sister. She is the one who returns to find David dead while Ellen is still at Patty's. It is also likely that Katie has the tape of Gregory Malina (as she is the only other person who can possibly know the secret hiding spot David and Ellen had).

What about Patty's son? He seems manipulative, much like his mother, and has been a vital character in the story. However, he seems to be there to throw viewers off. He is not likely to be involved in any of the criminal activity, but when we last see him he may be picking up his things to go to the beach house to find his mother. Michael appears to be the viewers' connection between Patty and the grave she visits while away from New York.

The final episode airs October 23, at 10 PM on FX.
