DanActive - What is it and Does it Really Work?

Dannon's Immune Boosting Yogurt Drink

What is DanActive and does it really work?

DanActive is a Probiotic Dairy Drink made by the folks at Dannon Company, Inc. According to the people at Dannon, 70% of our body's immune system is located in our digestive system. In order to fight off pesky viruses and sniffles, we must maintain a strong immune system.

DanActive contains L. Casei Immunitas. An explanation of l. casei can be found at the DanActive website.

DanActive was suggested to me by my "health nut" friend. Now, I say that lovingly, because when I am not feeling very good, she is the one I call for advice.

On this particular day, I was feeling terribly under the weather, painful glands in my neck and overall yuckiness. I was shopping at the grocery on my way home from work and she happened to call my cell phone.

After listening to my complaints, she directed me to the yogurt selection of our grocery store. Here I found DanActive, available in packages of 4 - 3.1 oz bottles.

It is available in Strawberry, Blueberry, Vanilla, Pomegranate Berry, Peach, Strawberry Light, Pomegranate Berry light and Mixed Berry Light. The flavors are very light and tastes like regular yogurt. It is much thinner and goes down just like a smoothie.

I drink one down at breakfast time each day. DanActive worked so well for me, improving my health in less than 24 hours, I have the entire family drinking one DanActive each day. According to the Dannon people, it is safe for children over three than have begun eating a varied diet, as well as seniors. Anyone that would like to build their body's immune system can drink DanActive along with a regular diet.

The following quote was taken directly from the DanActive website:

"Anyone with a severe milk allergy, or other special concerns, should consult their physician before using DanActive. However, people who have difficulty digesting lactose may tolerate products that contain live and active cultures, such as DanActive. The cultures begin breaking down the lactose while the product ferments and also while being digested. Because of this dairy products with live and active cultures may be tolerated."

The full report can be found here:

DanActive

Rabbi David I. Sheinkopf has certified that DanActive is K kosher.

I do believe that DanActive has promoted wellness in my family. We have been drinking it for almost a month, and in spite of the fact the flu is closing schools all around us, our family has remained healthy.

My husband used to stay sick all the time, catching anything and everything that came his way. He was rarely well for any length of time. Finally, one day I heard of DanActive and after a few weeks of encouragement I talked him into trying it (my husband is one who doesn't try new things very often--a born pessimist). After just the first package he was well and cautiously agreed to try another package. That was 5 years ago and he still drinks one every single day with his breakfast. As far as his health--he's not been sick but one time and that was with a severe bug that everyone had and his case was milder than the rest. He does still have trouble with his sinuses on occasion after he's mowed our 4 acres but he just grabs an extra DanActive everyday for a few days and he's well again. He wouldn't be without it now. Thank you, DanActive, for such a great product that actually made a believer out of my husband for once.

I've been drinking these lately. I also eat yogurt a few times a week but I love that you just take a big swig of this and get nutrients and goodness. Plus the price is lower now , about 5.29 an 8 pack.

"Probiotics" (supplemental good bacteria) are excellent products for your immune system - acidophilus, bifidus, etc. People with milk allergies or lactose intolerance or people that just don't like yogurt should know that there are many probiotics available in non-dairy capsule form at health food stores.
