Dance Dance Politician

Why are the Presidential Candidates singing and dancing? I no longer know who to vote for during the next presidential election. This next election has turned into such a circus of idiocy that I really am tired of hearing about it, reading about it, and seeing video clips of it. All over Youtube you can find tons of clips of Presidential Candidates dancing, singing, or just being goofy, in what appears to be a bid for a personal feel to their campaign.

This is tiring, watching Hillary Clinton sing, President Bush bang drums, Janet Reno singing, and others "letting loose" to what appears to be a carefully crafted plow to show people around the nation that they are indeed human and can have fun too. What I really want to know is what about Medicare, social security, 2^nd amendment rights, constitutional rights, immigrant rights, Federal minimum wage, the economy budget and other factors that shape my every day life, those are the factors that ill make me vote one way or the other, not how well you sing or dance.

Another unmentioned horror is the simple idea that some people are only backing certain candidates because they are either female or of a slightly difference ethnic proportion other that 100% American. While these are unmentionables because of the subject, is it truly happening, there is no way to tell. There is evidence to support both sides of that argument, but the truth of the issue is that since being biased for such reason is such a "taboo" thing that it will never be tackled or dealt with.

Recently the mud slinging has started another round, while some candidates resisted the first round they showed superior intellect and backbone in not participating in the mud slinging that has followed this campaign year. Unfortunately, the candidates that resisted the first round of slinging have given in to the second round and taken up arms against heir aggressors and slung mud back at them. This action has to stop, I do not care about the personal lives of the candidates anymore, and I no longer care about a bad check that they wrote in 1994, I want to hear the important issues. The current hot topics are so controversial that the new campaign has avoided going near these subjects. While it may be politically "safe" to avoid these subjects they are none the less very important to many people and almost everybody's life here within the United States of America.

These sensitive subjects should not be beaten to death as sometimes happens, they should be handled cautiously and stances should be made apparent. Each candidate should state their position and have a damn back bone. If they expect us as a nation to stand up for them they should have to guts to stand up on their own and draw a line in the sand and say this is where I stand and that is where you stand, thats who I am. No contradictions, no hypocrisy , no switching sides. Just draw the line and define ourself from the other candidates or be lost to the idea that people will vote for the "woman" or the "black" person running for office. Stand up for your position, and maybe as a nation well think you have the guts to stand up to represent our nation.
