Dance Foot Care Kits

I have been dancing since I was four years old, and over the years, my feet have been put to the ultimate test. When I was younger, my feet were not yet an eyesore, but that ended the day I tied the laces of my first pair of pointe shoes. After a brief indoctrination to the world of ballerinas and the wear and tear their feet endure, I soon learned tricks of the trade that did not improve the appearance of my feet, but at least made the pain more endurable. Today, after a decade of dancing en pointe, my feet are battered and disfigured, covered with unsightly bunions, blisters, corns and calluses.

Most of the time, I don't mind my ugly feet, and even feel rather grateful for them, because having calluses and corns on a dance foot make it a lot easier to tolerate six or seven hour dance practices. But this changes with the arrival of summer, when the world dons flip-flops and other forms of open-toed footwear. I find myself faced with the option of enduring the cringes of friends and strangers who notice my blisters, or wearing sneakers, which can be uncomfortable on a really hot day.

Fortunately, it is possible to purchase foot care kits made exclusively for dancers. Often, dance foot care kits offer the only assortment of foot care products that have any impact on dancers' battered feet. One of my favorite dance foot care kits is the Herbal Foot Care Kit at www.dancextrastore.com. It includes a foot scrub, repairing and healing cream, soaking salts and foot lotion. The ingredients are all natural.

Another type of dance foot care kit that works well for the battered dance foot is the Coleman foot care kit. Coleman foot care kits are not dance foot care kits, but they are very beneficial for dancers because they provide moleskin and adhesive strips to eliminate the painful rubbing of blisters, as well as antiseptic pads to clean off the feet and ward off infections.

Many dancers prefer to create their own dance foot care kits that can meet their needs in and out of ballet class. I quickly realized the benefits of carrying a homemade dance foot care kit to class after seeing dancers hastily pulling out supplies to ease their painful blisters.

If you wish to create your own dance foot care kit, there are a few supplies that you most certainly will want to include, such as toe tape, adhesive bandages, blister salve, Ace bandages, Icy Hot, foot lotion a nail clipper and anything else you can think of. Keeping these items together in a dance foot care kit will keep you prepared for any foot problems you experience before, during and after dance practice.
