I got a closer glimpse into Angel and her passion for dance when I saw her dance a couple of times a Victory World Church. Angel dances with so much grace and passion that it captivates you. I remember wanted to get up and cheer for her and bless her back for the blessings that she poured out in your dance.
I recently had the pleasure of shouting a short video of Angel and some of her dance techniques and again I was blown away by her presence. Today I had a chance to catch up with Angel and find out more about the woman behind the dance.
A.C.: Good afternoon Angel! I am so happy to have you talk with us today!
A.W.: Thank you so much for having me and giving me this opportunity! (Smiles)
A.C.: So Angel, for those that don't know you, can you tell us where you are from?
A.W.: I am from the beautiful coast of Charleston, South Carolina. I grew up 5 minutes away from the beach! (Smiles)
A.C.: Was there a defining moment in your life that contributed to your love for dance?
A.W.: I can honestly say that the defining moment happened when I was born. My grandmother has hosted talent and fashion shows since my mother was a teenager, so I was exposed to that world while I was yet in my mother's womb. (Smiles)
A.C.: Is that when your journey into dance took place?
A.W.: Yes, that's where it all started!
A.C.: Can you tell us how your passion for dance changed from just wanting to dance to desiring to minister in dance?
A.W.: My passion changed to a desire to minister when I surrendered my life to Christ. It was as if my eyes were opened!
A.C.: Where do you see God moving you to in the Dance arena? Do you currently offer dance lessons and if so, what kinds of dances do you specialize in?
A.W.: I see God moving me towards the younger generation. There are so many talented young dancers out there, and if I can teach them about dancing for the Lord no matter what style, nothing's impossible for them to conquer.
A.C.: Can you tell our audience where they can contact you for private classes?
A.W.: They can contact me at angelcwalker@gmail.com.
A.C.: Angel can you give up and coming dancers any tips on how to be a better dancer?
A.W.: First I would say go for it whether you're trained or not. If it's in your heart, throughout your bones, and in your soul, it's a part of who you are. Second, If possible take dance classes to improve your technique, that way every muscle can be used. And finally, prayer! If you feel called or destined to dance, God will order every step. One famous quote that I rest on is from Andy Stanley. He says, "Don't let the discouragement of a few slammed doors cause you to walk away from the vision God has birthed in your heart. Investigate. Look around. Think outside the lines." I would sum that up as never give up!!
A.C.: Thanks so much for spending time with us today and letting us get to know more about your love and passion for dance. I pray that God continue to bless your gift and use it for the building up of the Kingdom of God!
A.W.: Thank you for allowing me to give you a glimpse of what God is doing in my life! (Smiles)
