Sunday morning worship service;
the little children are dancing in the aisles.
They haven't learned of David yet,
of how he leapt and danced before the Lord.
Praising God unaware,
their little bodies bob and weave to the rhythm.
They have no self-conscious inhibitions yet.
Adults around them watch and smile.
Our grown-up sense of propriety
only allows us to sing and clap in time.
Perhaps someday we'll join them, dancing in the aisle.

What a sweetand joyous poem!!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Says a lot more about adults and their self-imposed restrictions than it does the children, Jill. Nicely done...
This one ran chills up my spine. I loved it!
Children's joy certainly can be an inspiration for adults as well :)
Excellent. Yes, in many ways kids know how to have more fun than their parents.
Can't remember dancing in the aisle but surely remember all the "brush Arbor" singing! Thanks.
