Dancing Amongst the Devil

Let's take a walk into one of my prom experience's, keep in mind I am female so it was all about the dress, hair, nails, and makeup, not the date. I must indicate that the date which accompanied to this prom my mother basically made me go with. When they say mom knows best, mom didn't know best with this one. My mother basically volunteered my services to accompany a young man to his high school prom because she felt bad for him that his mother begged my mother to get me to go to the prom with this young man being he had a huge crush one me at the time. My mother basically told me to do it because I was a good person, and put aside that I did not want to go at all with this guy. So I decided to put my feelings, & thoughts aside and accompany this guy to this prom. I was thinking it would be great to sport a nice dress, and be glammed up, & arriving in style.
The day started out just fine. It was sunny, and I was in a fairly decent mood. Believe it or not I was actually looking forward to going to the prom with this guy because a couple of friends of mine were going to be there as well. I was thinking, "How bad can this actually be with friends around me"?. I was just super excited to sport my dark blue beaded dress with my glimmer shadow, and shoes. Earlier that day I attended school as normal with excitement to go to the local salon to get my hair, and nails done. Myself, and a friend actually left school earlier that day to get things done. Once I got my hair, and nails done I returned home to get dressed, and prepare for my date to pick me up. It was about time to attend the prom so I was awaited my date to pick me up at my house. While I was waiting I received a phone call. It had been him asking if I could drive to the prom, his dad wouldn't let him take the van. I was thinking, "Oh my", "A Van", "Me Drive", Limo"? In the back of my head I was thinking that this should be an interesting evening. I then put my thoughts aside, got in my car, and decided I would make the best of this situation. I then arrived at my date's house to pick him up, his mother came accross the front yard, hugged me, and said, "Come inside it's time for photo's". At this moment I'm thinking, "Oh no, pictures", the thought of me being seen with this guy in pictures was not what I was wanting at all. When I went inside, I approached the living room and there had to be thirty people in the room calling me the date's girlfriend. It was at this time I was about to run out the door screaming. I guess it could have been worse rather than being mistakenly called his girlfriend. So, I sucked it up, took photos with him, and his family and just tried to stay positive for what the night was to bring. After picture's his dad said, "Come on you two I will take you to the prom in the van". My head turned. I said, "Ahh no I will drive there". I just couldn't get the thought out of my head my friend's seeing me pull up in his dad's old, beat up van. This was supposed to be a nice night not something out of the Beverly Hillbillies. I just kept holding my breathe hoping this was a joke, and the limo he said he got would magically appear. My date then said, "Aren't you glad that you got a corsage instead of the limo"? I said, "Excuse Me"? He said, " Well I bought you tickets, did you actually think you were getting a limo". After all that I just couldn't wait to get to the hall which the prom was being held at to meet up with people who I actually could tolerate being around.
Soon after all this drama we had arrived safely at the hall. When entering the prom we looked for our table, and I asked him if he dances, and he told me he didn't dance so he would just sit at the table. I decided at this time I would go with my friends,a nd dance being that was the purpose of the prom. So while we had been dancing, a guy I knew asked for me to dance with him so I accepted a harmless dance. It was then when my date took his hand, swung it around the table smashing every glass on the table, throwing forks screaming, "She's my date not yours". He had thrown a huge fit. I felt at this time he was way ou of line and walked outside. My date came running after me grabbing my arm asking why I was dancing with a man when I was there with him. I said, Listen you obviously got some issues which you need to address". He then stomped back into the hall, and punched the guy which I was dancing with in the face. The police ended up being called, and my date left in a police car. I not only will say this was the most embarrasing prom experience I ever had, but the last time I have my mother make me agree to attending a public function with someone she feels sorry for.
This was definitely a dance amongst the devil, and the last dance around the devil. To top the story off, his mother called me when she got the pictures, and told me that if I would want to see the pictures I would have to pay for them, and give him the money back for the tickets to the prom because he didn't do his chores to earn the money therefore he owed her the money. So who is next to dance with this devil?!
