The room dances around my head again, God
And I plead with my right hand
I plead with my left
Show me where I ought to go next
And I plead with my right hand
I plead with my left
Show me where I ought to go next
My shoulder shrug irks me
I falter
I fall
Frail and easy prey
Should I subject myself to the dance
Of the universe about me?
Standing still
Being battered on all sides
By the push, the rhythm and the shake
How should I move my feet, Spirit?
Side to side
or front to back?
Does it even matter?
Because I feel it in my chest
The soles of my feet are already moving
My arms
They are swinging
My smile
It is broadening
I will dance with You, Creator
And You will teach me
You, my Teacher
You, Master of the Dance.
