Now, if you live in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, there are a few ways you can go to learn to really get your groove on.� For a fairly small neighborhood, JP is surprisingly dance friendly.� There are lessons in casual settings or seriously disciplined instruction. You can find it all, at a range of prices and schedules.

The first place that comes to mind would have to be the Jamaica Plain School of Dance.� Its name says it all.� The Jamaica Plain School of Dance offers a full range of styles including Ballet (and Pre-Ballet for the little ones), Belly Dancing, Hip Hop, Acro-Jazz and Jazz-Cheer, Tap, and Boys Dance.� They also offer Pilates and Kick-boxing it it's a workout you're looking for with your coordination.� They're located right on Amory Street, which is convenient to public transportation via the Orange Line.� They have a variety of classes every day through out the day.

For the Ballet program, the Jamaica Plain School of Dance charges $235 per semester for one class per week, and $415 per semester for two classes per week.� Charges for the other styles vary, so contact the school to find out prices and class times for your particular choice.

If you're looking for something with a little more spice, there is an organization devoted to Latin and Salsa Dancing called "Spontaneous Celebrations".� They offer classes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.� On Tuesdays and Thursdays two sessions are offered.� Beginner classes are held from 8:00pm-9:00pm, and Advanced/All Level classes run from 9:00pm-10:00pm.� On Saturdays there is one class for All Levels from 11:00am-12:00pm.� Classes are offered in eight week sessions.� Contact the school for pricing.

And if you're looking for something to liven up your party, "Spontaneous Celebrations" has a Salsa dance troop called the "The Salsa Mix Dance Company" that is available for events as well.

For a more casual approach, or if you're feeling like your ready to strut your stuff for the crowd, a fun alternative is the Salsa Classes offered at "Mango's" at the Milky Way night club.� Drop in classes are held every Saturday at 8:30pm.� The classes cost $10.00 each, and they include admission to the night club so you can show off your stuff when you're through!
