Dancing Raindrops

April Higney
Droplets dancing, splashing, glittering,

puddles beneath her feet,

barefoot, she sways happily,

the rain never tasted so sweet.

The sun sneaks a peak,

drifting between clouds, enlightening,

she finds the fragrance of a soft purple flower, sunlit,

beneath a purple sky, still flashing, lightning.

Droplets dancing, splashing, glittering,

the sounds of the wakening spring,

barefoot, she sways happily,

the whistling of birds and breeze, begin to sing.

The sun sneaks a peak,

a rainbow of color, drifting between clouds, enlightening,

she finds her reflection, in the lake,

droplets dancing, splashing, glittering,

barefoot, she sways happily,

the purple sky behind her, flashing, lightning.
