Dancing with the Stars will premiere with a 2-hour special on March 9th. The Dancing with the Stars 2009 lineup has not been officially released as of this time, but rumors are all over the internet as to who will appear in the spring 2009 installment of the show. Dancing with the Stars will once again appear as a Monday night show on ABC, starting with the March 9th, 2009 premiere which will not only introduce the new cast, but serve as what ABC hopes to be a jump start for its Monday night ratings.

This will be the 8th season of Dancing with the Stars and while the cast members may be changing in the ABC reality competition, the hosts will remain as Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris this spring. The 8th season of the hit show will also go back to something it used in season 5, where the dancers will have two weeks of dancing on the show before an official elimination is made. This will give fans the chance to get back into the show, and pick favorites that will compete over the first couple of weeks. The score from the judges, as well as the phone votes from the fans will be combined to decide who gets eliminated later on.

The biggest drama around a Dancing with the Stars news story, is that even if it is just a small story about the show, rumors begin to fly about which celebrities will appear on the next season of the show. It has become quite popular over the years, and has begun to serve as a vehicle for people to get back into the spot light. Pop stars, actors, and even sports stars have made their way to the dance floor, and the 2009 lineup should include all of the above once again. One of the rumors out there right now is that Kevin Federline (yes the one once married to Britney Spears) might appear on the show. Another rumor came from Donny Osmond, who may have let it slip that he too could end up on this season of the show.

While the new cast has not been officially announced, it is still a lot of fun for people to try and guess who will be dancing away on the next season. This last season, model/actress Brooke Burke came away with the mirror ball trophy, and football player Warren Sapp placed second. The 2009 season should be even more exciting for fans of the show, with the first dances taking place on Monday, March 9th at 8:00 pm PST and EST.
