'Dancing with the Stars' 2010 Season 10 Spoilers :Who Won DWTS Season 10? Evan Lycasek Skates Away...
Without the Mirrorball Trophy. Who was the Winner of 'Dancing with the Stars' 2010?
The show started with a dance that featured most of the ousted Season 10 cast, including a svelte Niecy Nash. Chad Ochocinco sat this one out, after being injured during football training.
Then it was on to the Argentine Tango for all 3 couples. Judges Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman and Carrie Ann Inaba had the difficult task of ranking the contestants first dance with a score of 30, 28 or 26 points.
First up were Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough. Len loved the "intensity, passion, artistry" of their dance, saying, "this is the Argentine Tango." Bruno said "the magic continues".
Second was Olympian Evan Lycasek and Anna Trebunskaya. Bruno told Evan, "You danced this tango like a real lady killer." Carrie called the dance "true redemption".
Finally, ESPN's Erin Andrews and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy's ArgentineTango prompted Carrie Ann to tell Erin she was "in the zone". Len told her she was in the final based on merit.
Then it was time for the judges rankings, which would later be combined with Monday night's audience vote:
Erin and Maks- 26
Evan and Anna- 28
Nicole and Derek- 30
Next up, a reunion dance with ousted contestants Shannen Doherty, Aiden Turner and Buzz Aldrin.
Then, in an even weirder match up, Bachelor star Jake Pavelka and his partner Chelsie Hightower were joined on stage by DWTS alum Dmitri Chaplin and Pavelka's fiancé, Vienna Girardi.
Why was Vienna dancing?
I can only think ABC is trying to prep us for her possible appearance on the summer reality fling, Bachelor Pad, or possibly to keep the romance alive for a televised Jake/Vienna wedding.
Next, nearly an hour into the show, the 3rd place couple was announced. Sadly it was Erin Andrews and Maks. A tearful Erin, who has undergone a hellish year after being videotaped undressing by a stalker, said, "I came here under really crummy circumstances.... I just wanted to be myself again".
With Erin out, it was a showdown between Evan and Anna and Nicole and Derek. Evan promised a quickstep while Nicole said her finale dance would be all "heart and soul" (later revealed to be the Jive).
But first, reality mom Kate Gosselin made a highly touted return appearance to the show, where she shamelessly plugged her upcoming TLC series', Kate Plus 8 and Twist of Kate before dancing with partner Tony Dovolani. No offense Kate, but we see why you were voted off. At least she looked like she was having fun!
Pamela Anderson and Niecy Nash also performed in what host Tom Bergeron called " a celebration of all things jiggly".
Finally, it was time for the final 2 couples to perform their final dance of the season.
Nicole and Derek danced a perfect jive. Literally. 10's from all the judges. Len proclaimed, "There were 12 days of Christmas, 7 dwarfs, 4 Beatles...and 1 winner of Dancing With the Stars-you". He must have been saving that one up all season! JUDGES's SCORE: 30/30
For the final dance of Season 10, Evan and Anna danced the Quickstep. Holy Cheap Trick!-- it was to the song "I Want You to Want Me". Carrie Ann said, "You have won the hearts of everyone here....when I watch you I see a true champion". JUDGES SCORE: 28/30
The leader board scores were then revealed:
Nicole and Derek: 115
Evan and Anna: 108
After the leaderboard scores were combined with the audience vote, it was time to announce the winner of Dancing With the Stars Season 10. And the winner is....
Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough! A squealing Nicole accepted her mirrorball trophy, in a win that really came as no surprise to DWTS fans. As for Evan Lycasek- who skated away empty handed- he acknowledged that Niccole deserved to be the Dancing With the Stars Season 10 champion.
