'Dancing with the Stars' 2011 Lineup Rumors and Spoilers: Phil Hellmuth, Lauren Conrad, Others in or Out?

Sherry Wight
With the premiere date for "Dancing with the Stars" 2011 officially set for Monday, March 21st, it's high-time to take a gander at the casting rumors that've made the cyberspace rounds in recent weeks. Here's a look at some celebrities who may appear as part of the "DWTS" season 12 celebrity lineup, and a few who have confirmed they won't seek out Mirrorball glory... yet.

"Dancing with the Stars" 2011 Lineup Rumors: Thanks, But No Thanks

Lauren Conrad. The fashionista's "Hills" co-star Audrina Patridge may have shown some serious ballroom chops last season, but despite rumblings to the contrary, LC has confirmed that she won't be following suit. Sorry, reality junkies. Maybe Whitney Port will take some time away from her clothing line to participate... some day.

Portia de Rossi. Entertainment Weekly reported way back in early December that the pretty blonde actress had declined an invitation to join the season 12 cast, yet somehow, the rumor is still alive. Unless her publicist was pulling our collective leg, she's a no-go.

Lindsay Lohan. 'Lil Kim, Lawrence Taylor and a host of disgraced or otherwise disliked celebs have used "DWTS" to help repair their tarnished images, but the oft-legally embroiled LiLo apparently won't be joining their ranks. According to an MTV article from December, Lohan's publicist denied rumors that she planned to strut her stuff in sequins. While it could've been little more than tricky wordplay, methinks the "Mean Girls" star still thinks she's too good to join the typically c-list cast.

"Dancing with the Stars" 2011 Lineup Rumors: Mulling it Over?

Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett. A little less than a year ago, the fomer "Girl Next Door" told "Today" that she'd say no if "DWTS" came a'knockin'. She may have changed her tune, though, as an E! Online report last month claimed that Wilkinson had engaged in recent talks with ABC about joining the season 12 cast. If ex-roomie Holly Madison could take a sequined spin in the spotlight as she did during "Dancing with the Stars" season 8, why shouldn't Kendra follow suit?

Todd Palin. The husband of controversial political figure Sarah and dad of season 11 third-place finisher Bristol was approached to appear on "DWTS" the last-go round, but rejected the invitation. No definitive word as to whether he's rejected the request a second time around, but one thing's for sure: Another Palin in the mix would likely prove a ratings gold mine for ABC.

Phil Hellmuth. A bizarre, cryptic Tweet by the pro poker player ignited speculation regarding his potential participation in the show back in December. So far, there's no confirmation one way or the other, but if it's true, look out for some serious ego action in the ballroom.

Donna D'Errico. The buxom Pam Anderson was a popular addition to season 10, so why not bring another ex-"Baywatch" babe into the ballroom? That's precisely what "DWTS" producers are trying to do, according to a mid-January report from TMZ.

Lorenzo Lamas. The same TMZ report names the "Renegade" actor as another strong potential candidate for the hunt for the Mirrorball Trophy.

So that's a quick primer on a handful of celebs who may -- or may not -- join the "Dancing with the Stars" 2011 lineup come March 21. Which rumors will morph into reality? Check back for updates and watch those headlines for all the casting 411 as it arises. And be sure to watch "The Bachelor" on February 28 for the official "DWTS" cast announcement.

Please - not another Palin! Let's get back to real stars and keep political stars out of the mix.

There's probably some truth in the rumors.

Well, truthfully - I only know a few of these folks! I had hoped for Tom Selleck or even Steven Tyler - but he took the gig with Idol instead :) LOL cheers
