'Dancing with the Stars' 2011 Premiere Lands 1980s Stars at Top of the Leaderboard

80s Faves Ralph Macchio, Kirstie Alley Score Highest on 'DWTS' Premiere

It was the season 12 premiere of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" on Monday night, as 11 stars began their competition for that mirror ball trophy.

The dances? They alternated between the foxtrot and the cha cha- and on Night 1 there already appeared to be a big range in some of the stars' skill levels.

The surprise of the night may have been 60-year old "Cheers" star, Kirstie Alley, who scored the second highest of the night for her dance with partner Maks Chmerkovskiy.

But there were no surprises when it came to fan favorite Ralph Macchio. The "Karate Kid" star scored perfect "8's" with partner Karina Smirnoff, who is definitely in a better "Situation" than she was last season!

On the lower end of the leaderboard was "Loveline" co-host Mike Catherood and his partner Lacey Schwimmer. They scored a mere 13 points total.

Talk show host Wendy Williams fared little better- she and Tony Dovolani cha cha'ed their way to a lowly 14. Maybe these talk show hosts should stick to talking!

"Girls Next Door" star Kendra Wilkinson brought in reinforcements: that would be hubby Hank Baskett and former beau Hugh Hefner. She scored a respectable 18 with partner Louis Van Amstel, but her dancing was surprisingly choppy.

Disney star Chelsea Kane gloated that she once "kissed Joe Jonas and it didn't suck" scored perfect "7's" and a kudos from Bruno Tonioli that her dancing was "One and a half minutes of pure afterglow."

And 10 seasons after he first stepped on the "DWTS" dance floor- and hurt his ankle, prompting his pop Master P to be a permanent fill-in, rapper Romeo (no longer 'Lil) came off as flatfooted- but entertaining.

Here are all of your "DWTS" Season 12 premiere scores:

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas- 21

Wendy Williams and Tony Dovolani - 14

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson- 21

Petra Nemcova - and Dmitry Chaplin- 18

Romeo and Chelsie Hightower- 19

Sugar Ray Leonard and Anna Trebunskaya- 17

Kendra Wilkinson and Louis Van Amstel- 18

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff - 24

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke-19

Mike Catherwood and Lacey Schwimmer - 13

Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy - 23

You can catch the next episode of "Dancing With the Stars" season 12 on March 28 at 8:00 pm ET on ABC.
