'Dancing with the Stars' 2011 Week 7 Results: Kendra Wilkinson's Bloom Fades

The "Dancing with the Stars" 2011 week 7 results show aired May 3 on ABC. The show featured performances by James Blunt and Nikki Minaj, and ended with the surprise booting of "Girls Next Door" star Kendra Wilkinson. Here's a full recap.

Co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke got the action started by turning to head judge Len Goodman for the week's encore dance reveal. Old Crankypants said that the choice had been a tough one, but that he and cohorts Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli had settled on Team Chelsea's Cha-Cha-Cha. The black leather brigade, including celebs Chelsea Kane, Ralph Macchio and Romeo and the respective partners, once again strutted their stuff Lady Gaga style to "Born this Way". And whaddya know: They actually did it better the second time around.

Then the elimination reveals began as Tom called forward NFL star Hines Ward, who ended the week tied for the top spot, and actress Kirstie Alley, who found herself in the basement, to hear their fates. Hines and partner Kym Johnson were declared safe, while Kirstie and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy remained in peril. Backstage, Burke interviewed contenders Ralph and Chelsea, as well as Hines and Kirstie. Ralph hoped to work hard and "keep driving toward the finals", while Chelsea declared it's "always the right time to take a risk" with choreography. Hines hoped to put together two good dances on DWTS week 8, and Maks said he had "no idea" how he and Kirstie would manage two dances, if they advanced.

With the chit chat finished for the moment, singer Nikki Minaj lit up the ballroom with her single "Moment 4 Life". Dancing with the Stars pros Lacey Schwimmer and Chelsie Hightower and two dudes I didn't recognize funked it out in pink and blue fluff. It was interesting. Yeah, interesting.

Up and coming ballerina Patricia Zhou followed next with her television debut. I'm so outrageously impressed by this girl: She started ballet at 13 years old, and is just amazing. When you've got a gift, you've got a gift. She performed to live music by singer/songwriter Priscilla Ahn. (Who, incidentally, was also very good.)

Tom and Brooke continued the results portion of the show on the heels of Ahn and Zhou's performance by calling Ralph and partner Karina Smirnoff and Chelsea and partner Mark Ballas to the stage. Ralph and Karina, who impressed with a Quickstep Monday night, were saved to dance again, while Chelsea and Mark remained in danger.

In the Red Room, Brooke spoke with remaining couples Romeo and Chelsie and Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel. Romeo attributed his fall to the bottom of the leaderboard to "bad timing", while a nervous Kendra said she was ready to tackle two dances next week if she moves on in the competition.

Out in the ballroom, Tom introduced the evening's Macy*s Stars of Dance routine, which was done in memory of the legendary James Brown. The super cool Wayne Brady crooned some happenin' tunes while a bunch of ladies in bright red and dudes in white shirts, black hats and black pants gyrated nearby. It was smooth.

A taped segment featuring the celebs having round table discussions with their partners aired next. Karina told Ralph that they needed to bring out his sexy, while Kym let Hines know that he needed to stop "over-analyzing" his moves. Kendra shared with Louis that she appreciates praise, while Kirstie asked Maks for more validation. (Maks said it probably wouldn't happen, ha ha.) He called her personality her biggest strength. Karina praised Ralph for his ability to create a story, while Kym appreciated Hines' great footwork. There was much more, but I can't type that fast. Sorry. But it wasn't all that interesting. Maks dissing Kirstie was the most interesting thing.

With that out of the way, James Blunt kept the "Dancing with the Stars" 2011 week 7 results show moving forward with his recent release "I'll Be Your Man". He has such a unique sound. Maks' little bro Val Chmerkovskiy and his lovely brunette partner hoofed it in accompaniment. It was all sorts of fun and flirty, boo ya. Made me want a fruity little drink with an umbrella.

Shortly thereafter, Tom called forward the last two couples -- Romeo and Chelsie, and Kendra and Louis -- to learn their fates. Romeo and Chelsie were proclaimed safe to dance again (much to my surprise) while Kendra and Louis remained in jeopardy. After an ill-timed commercial break, Tom and Brooke turned to Len for his thoughts on the three couples still awaiting their fates. Len called Kendra a "late blossoming girl" and said that he'd be "really shocked" if Chelsea were eliminated. Kirstie? He called her "inconsistent". Following a pause, Kirstie and Maks were proclaimed safe. After the requisite dramatic music, Kendra Wilkinson was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars 2011.

Kendra turned to Louis and thanked him for sticking with her throughout the process, and told her baby that she was looking forward to being back with him at home. Louis, in turn, said "I love you, I'm so proud of you". And with that, another week of DWTS is in the books. Check out Dancing with the Stars week 8 next Monday to see how the five surviving hopefuls will handle the ever-popular Instant Dance challenge. Or you can just check in with me. You know I'll be watching.
