Dancing With The Stars Bristol Palin, Mirrorball Trophy Already Hers?

Carol Whyte
Dancing With The Stars Season 11 has brought its millions of viewers and fans Bristol Palin and her accompanying entourage of controversy. While many reports are questioning how and why she made it to the DWTS Finals, the fact remains that Palin, 20, is there. The real focus now should be whether or not 'Alaska's Favorite Daughter' will bring the shinny mirrorball trophy back home to the 'The Last Frontier.'

The producers of Dancing With The Stars have been busy defending the young single mother of her presence in the finals, stating that she belongs there. According to Conrad Green, DWTS executive producer, "She deserves it. And a significant portion of our viewing audience believes that, too."

It could be that those who oppose the Tea Party may really want to rid themselves of the 'conspiracy' out there that states the said party has organized efforts to keep Bristol in.

In fact, Green told People Magazine that the process of voting for stars, including text votes, call-in and email votes, "is all overseen by the Broadcast Standards team, independent of us and the network to make sure that everything is absolutely done scrupulously."

Tom Bergeron, host of America's most popular dancing show, spoke with TV Guide regarding the Bristol phenomenon stating, "The complaining amuses me to no end. Whenever someone says that Bristol shouldn't be there to me, I almost inevitably say, 'Of course, you're voting for...?' And they go, 'Yeah, I didn't vote.' I have no sympathy for people who are kvetching about - and this is from a gentile - who's still there and who's gone."

Additionally, Bergeron told TV Guide "If you want a technical dancer, watch PBS. It's part dance show, part popularity contest. It always has been and always will be. If you don't get that by Season 11, I don't know what I have to say to you."

Conrad Green echoed Tom's sentiments to People stating, "Quite often it's been the one who's the most popular or someone who's captured the public's imagination because of their performance or who they were."

Thus with Dancing With The Stars executives and host Tom Bergeron defending the show's above-reproach ethics and basically dismissing the Tea Party conspiracy agenda, it may be that all the Bristol-hoopla is simply just that.

It could also mean that Bristol Palin is destined to win it all on Dancing With The Stars especially judging by the volume and power of the votes that have brought her to the Finals and managed to whack those contestants (Rick Fox, Brandy, and Audrina Patridge) who have more dancing ability and talent.
