Dancing with the Stars Eliminates Chad Ochocinco

He Came a Long Way Baby

The Dancing with the Stars results show wasted no time getting down to business by announcing that Evan Lysacek and partner Anna Trebunskaya would definitely be dancing in the finals. Evan and Anna's Paso Doble was also chosen by the judges as the night's encore performance. Judge Len Goodman pointed out that on any other season of Dancing with the Stars, Chad Ochocinco would have made the finals. The talent exhibited by the field of competitors this season has been unprecedented. Unfortunately this meant the journey has come to an end for Chad Ochocinco and partner Cheryl Burke. It always stings when you do your best and it isn't good enough. Ochocinco fans, and he has a ton of new ones at this point, will get to see Chad back in action in the NFL wearing his Bengal uniform once again. Sorry ladies, he'll likely be wearing a shirt when you next see him!

The Dancing with the Stars results show featured a live performance by Sarah McLachlan that featured the DWTS pros in uncharacteristically subdued outfits. It's become so commonplace to see them dancing in what could pass as fabric swatches that it's actually surprising when they have clothes on! This was quickly followed by a performance featuring two Dancing with the Stars pros wearing the more traditional skimp and pimp outfits we've grown accustomed to. Enough flashing lights and flames to send even a normal person into seizures also accompanied this performance. I'm surprised they don't have to flash a disclaimer on the screen in advance.

There was a segment featuring a dance team from Rutgers for the college competition and instead of dismissing it outright as a time killer, I'll say that they were pretty good. The judges awarded them 21 out of 30 points-not bad. This was followed by the team from Utah Valley University, who had clearly been together much longer and had a level of precision that earned them a total of 29 out of 30 points-tough to beat.

Next on Dancing with the Stars, a scantily clad Miley Cyrus burst out of a birdcage wearing feathers and thigh-high leather boots shrieking about not being tamed or changed. This hormonally charged performance was just about perfect for the college crowd in attendance.

Fifty minutes into the show it was announced that Nicole Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough would be in the Dancing with the Stars finals as well. After more commercials, it was finally announced that Chad and Cheryl had been eliminated. This leaves Evan Lysacek, Erin Andrews, and Nicole Scherzinger heading into the Dancing with the Stars finals. Any of the three remaining contestants could walk away with the trophy. At this point it really looks like Nicole Scherzinger is unstoppable, but the Dancing with the Stars audience will likely be the determining factor. There has been a lot of complaining that Nicole has too much dance experience and that it isn't fair. While it's true that Nicole has plenty of experience, she is learning all of these dances for the first time just like the other contestants and she is working equally as hard. In all honesty, if experience with choreography upsets the audience, they should give the trophy to Erin Andrews. It would be nice to see how the finals play out and to have the trophy awarded to whichever pair performs the best. We'll find out what happens next week.

Nicole is such a great dancer and Derek is an awesome choreographer. It is hard to imagine that they will lose, even though Evan is very close. Erin is definitely improving, but I don't see her catching the other two.

I'm not surprised and I am also a bit shocked that he got this far. Super reporting.

It was Chad's time to go. I'm a little surprised he made it this far, but I guess I underestimated his fan base. I will miss seeing the interaction between he and Cheryl.
