Dancing with the Stars Elimination Results-Week 3

Renee Bagley
Tonight on Dancing with the Stars a third contestant was eliminated. Margaret Cho and partner Louis van Amstel were taken out of the competition. They were sent home after learning they had the lowest scores with an 18 out of 30. Cho currently stars on the hit television show Drop Dead Diva.

After learning of her elimination Cho made a speech to bring attention to the gay community, and the gay teenagers in the news, who has recently committed suicide. The teens had been bullied, and eventually took their own lives. Like Tyler Clementi, who was a Rutgers student that has been harassed and bullied by fellow classmates. Resulting in Clementi taking his own life. Very serious stuff, and it was a nice gesture on her part to leave with a message bringing awareness to an important issue like that. The world could do without hate crimes of every kind.

Last week, singer Michael Bolton was heavily criticized and subsequently sent home. This week he was back in the ballroom to sing Hallelujah, and was tribacked by a boys choir. It's a great song and he did it justice, even receiving a standing ovation from Bruno. Bolton was glad to be back in the ballroom, especially since he got the chance to sing, rather than dance, which is what he does well. Susan Boyle was previously booked to sing the Leonard Cohen song, but was unable to perform due to sickness.

Stars still competing include Jennifer Grey, Brandy, Bristol Palin, Florence Henderson, Rick Fox, Kurt Warner, Kyle Massey, Audrina Patridge, and Mike Sorrentino.

I think that Margaret was doing her best but her timing just wasn't there. The judges need to realize that these people are not professional dancers as their partners. The only one who has danced semi-pro is Jennifer Grey when she was taught by the late Patrick Sywaze in Dirty Dancing. Let the judges compete in a hip hop contest and see how well they would do.
