Dancing with the Stars Episode 13: A Games!

Brandy and Maks and Jennifer and Derek on Top; Bristol and Mark at Bottom

The 200th episode of Dancing with the Stars was a celebration. Fifty stars from previous seasons were in attendance as special guests, with six of the stars acting as guest judges. The 200th episode also included former Dancing with the Stars champs Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Anton Ohno acting as team captains.

Team Kristi and Team Apolo

Team Kristi included Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer and Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke. While Team Apolo included Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya and Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

The episode began with Team Kristi performing the Cha Cha Cha. The weakest team in the bunch was Bristol and Mark, based on previous performances. But Bristol proved she can dance with more character and enthusiasm when she dances in a group, particularly with other women. When Bristol was questioned after the dance, the shy girl from Alaska indicated that she was happy to be able to work with girls.

The judges were happy with the dance and acknowledged that it has been a tough week for everyone. Bruno Tonioli pointed out that Rick did a good job of keeping up with the younger Mark and Kyle.

Scores for the dance were - 8,8,8 - 24

Then it was Team Apolo's turn to perform the Cha Cha Cha. Two of the best dancers of season 11 were on the team - Brandy and Maks and Jennifer and Derek. However, Jennifer is having a tough time of it. Her doctor reminded her that she is 50 and not 25. He also advised her to take a break every two hours. Jennifer is breaking down, but is trying her best to hold it together. Even professional athlete Apolo Ohno acknowledged that he started to get really tired at around week 4 or 5. Dancing with the Stars is hard work, especially for someone like Jennifer who has had cancer and surgeries.

However, despite Jennifer's problems, the judges rated Team Apolo high. Scores for the dance were - 9,9,9 - 27

Individual Couples

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer

After the team dances was the time for the individual couple dances. First up were Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer dancing the Paso Doble. The guest judge for Kyle and Lacey was Mel B, and Kyle and Lacey prepared to dance the same Paso Doble that Mel accomplished. "Finally, we're moving back up the leaderboard," said Kyle.

But the Paso Doble is a "tough and aggressive" dance said Lacey. Her concern was for Kyle, who is considered a really sweet kid, to be tough and aggressive. So, Kyle put on a black vest over his bare chest and drew muscle lines on his chest with a marker. "Check out my situation," joked Kyle.

In the end, the judges loved Kyle and Lacey's Paso Doble. "That was your best dance," said Len Goodman.

Scores were - 10, 9, 8, 8 - 35 out of 40 for a 59 out of 70 total score

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya

The guest judge for Kurt and Anna was Emmitt Smith who was recently inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Kurt and Anna prepared to dance Emmitt's Tango from his Dancing with the Stars days. Kurt is working hard and says it's frustrating when Anna says a move is easy, but he doesn't feel it's easy. Football player Kurt took Anna to a football field to show her just how hard his area of expertise is.

But when it came to the dance, Kurt and Anna pleased the judges. "You went from mission impossible to mission accomplished," said Bruno.

Scores were - 10, 8, 8, 8 - 34 out of 30 for a 61 out of 70 total score

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

Kelly Osbourne looked fabulous when she arrived on stage to act as the guest judge for Bristol and Mark. "It's a shame how you've let yourself go," joked host Tom Bergeron.

"This show has changed my life so much," said Kelly, who has battled weight problems and substance abuse.

Bristol and Mark's task was to dance the Viennese Waltz, the dance that Kelly danced when she was a contestant. Kelly was praised for not being one of the most natural but for blossoming anyway. Mark's hope for Bristol is that she can do the same, but win it all.

But Bristol's problem remains. Her footwork is good, but her enthusiasm is not. Every judge agreed that Bristol needs to work on her passion. "You're still slightly detached," said Carrie Ann Inaba.

Scores were - 9, 8, 8, 8 - 33 out of 40 for a 57 out of 70 total score

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke

It was the Quick Step for Rick and Cheryl with Helio Castroneves as the guest judge. One thing about Helio is that he was not afraid to have fun, Rick noted. During the rehearsal, Rick's beautiful girlfriend Eliza Dushku stopped by. She helped to loosen him up.

The judges loved the dance and found a name for Rick in his bright green costume - Jolly Green Giant. (When Castroneves performed the Quick Step, during his Dancing with the Stars time, he was called a banana when he wore his yellow costume.)

Carrie Ann said that the dance was by far the best they've done. The rest of the judges agreed.

Scores were - 10, 9, 9, 9 - 37 out of 40 for a 61 out of 70 total score

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Gilles Marini, that hot French actor who sizzled in his shower scene in the Sex and the City movie, was the guest judge for Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Brandy believes that she wants to win more than anyone, due to all the ups and downs in her career and in her life. Fans remember when Brandy was involved in a serious car accident where there was a fatality. That incident was one of the lower points in her life. Says Brandy, "You want the sun to shine on you at some point."

The sun was definitely out for Brandy and Maks' Fox Trot. Said Bruno, "That was a fox trot sizzling with sex." And even though Brandy made a minor mistake, which the judges pointed out, her dance was still amazing. Len Goodman made it clear that the mistake should be ignored because the dance was so good. He gave the dance a 10, and Len has made it clear in the past that a 10 is difficult to get from him.

Scores were - 9, 9, 10, 9 - 37 out of 40 for a 64 out of 70 total score

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough

It was Tango time for Jennifer and Derek. The guest judge for Jennifer and Derek was Drew Lachey.

The problem was that Jennifer feels like she's been "hit by a truck." It's so bad that she has bruises all over her body. Jennifer looked weaker than she has in previous episodes and is struggling to hang on. But despite it all, Jennifer performed another excellent dance, which proves that she is one of the best of season 11. Len said there was tension, passion and attack.

Scores were - 10, 9, 9, 9 - 37 out 40 for a 64 out of 70 total score

The results of episode 13 will air at the special time of 8/7c on Tuesday, November 2 on ABC. Special guests on the show will be Taylor Swift and Rod Stewart.
